I am having a problem with my Onstar. When i hit the blue button it just beeps forever and never connects. I contacted onstar through my cell phone and they say they can do nothing to fix this over the cell phone. They say they must be connected to the vehicle to fix it. They tell me i have to go to my dealer to fix this problem but my closest dealer is like 2 hours. Has anyone had anything similar happen?

btw, my personal calling minutes work fine.

I've had that happen when the system is over-loaded. You might also want to try to call your vehicle from a cell phone or land line to determine whether or not it's working properly.
A trip to the dealer is the easiest fix, though.http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I had that type of problem with my 2000 Tahoe.
The dealer had to change out the on-star unit.
But that was about 4 years ago.
Hope things work out for you!

Go try it in a different location.

I've had this happen twice. First time, they had to replace the On Star module at the dealer.

The second time is still ongoing. I can connect from just about anywhere but my driveway at home. The ironic thing is, hubby can connect from HIS On Star in the Slade, which is literally 1' away from the Hummer in the driveway. Go figure. Works fine everywhere else.

I had pretty much the same problem, turned out that OnStar dropped the ball on thier end. Took about 20mins, but they got it all figured out.

Just curious, but what circumstance causes you to hit the blue button? That's the direct-to-Onstar button, yes?

I have the directions and connections package so i might use it to get directions to a landmark that is not on my nav, or more frequently i use it for directory assitance. I must hit the button 3 times a day just for a phone number.
