View Full Version : Disappointed with '07 Adventure Package Wheels

I know everyone has their own taste, but I wish Hummer continued to give people the option of having chrome wheels or not with the Adventure package in '07. I like the no-chrome look for an off-road vehicle, as I think most off-roaders do (at least I think so based on their rigs). Unfortunately, someone in Hummer marketing thought otherwise, so when ordering the Adventure Package (or Off-Road package with the Luxury Package), you end up with chrome wheels whether you like it or not.

On the flip side, they are offering a body colored grille for '07 which looks great. It doesn't make sense to pair that with chrome wheels, though. I don't know what they were thinking.

I think we need to petition Hummer to reconsider this, and give people the option.

They should offer black powder coated wheels on all Hummers, STD on Adv. pkgs. IMO............... enough acronyms?

I'm not into chrome either. I asked the sales manager at Al Serra Hummer on Saturday about chrome versus brushed, and he said the standard wheel on the Adv pkg was brushed aluminum. I had him look up the codes to be sure, and we saw the word 'chrome' was in the standard wheel description. But right under it was the chrome wheel option for $800. He said it had to be a typo because they have to order the option to get chrome.

...and they should have wheel protectors as one of the options.

I'll bet money, the $800 option was for the QB8 chrome wheels which are optional on the Standard and Luxury packages. The wheels included with the Adventure and Luxury with Off-Road package for 2007 are listed as the QB9 (not to be confused with QB8), and the description is "thin spoke flanged chrome aluminum". You may want to have the sales manager double check that. In 2006, the QA7 wheels were standard (non-chrome) on all models.

What I think would have looked nice is the metallic paint they use on the Lexus GX470 Sport package. It's darker and more metal looking than the standard wheel paint. Machined spokes would have looked nice, too.

I agree, I wouldn't want chrome either. Marketing people; most probably have no idea what the people really want.

I agree also. That is pretty stupid especially in light of the fact that chrome makes the wheel more brittle why would you want that offroad?
