For those of you suffering global warming, we are having flash flooding last night and today. It has been monsoon rains for over 12 hours pushing lots of streams up over the roads. My kids and I were out looking at the flooding when we came across a car flooded out trying to drive across so we drove over and my son and I through the tow straps on the delta 88 and yanked it out. As we were unstrapping the first car on the road, did not another car with two teens try to drive thru the flooded road. they made it about half way and flooded out. We debated on leaving them since they obviously saw us yank the Olds out but we pulled their toyota out too. We notified the local local Fire Department who went some of their firepolice out to stand guard. Made my son feel like he did a good thing for the day and it was some valuable son/father time, never enough of that.

Good for you and your son. I'm sure the people in the Olds appreciated your help, but I'd have been waaayyy more than tempted to leave the kids.:D

Where are you in PA? H2Rocks and Oldhiker are supposed to go to Paragon AP just outside of Hazleton today.

Good job! Also thanks for boosting the Hummer image. Now if only that had been filmed by a national news crew!

I have a friend who is not fond of Hummers. I just told him today that my Hummer may be the vehicle that rescues you after the next big one (earthquake).

X2 :)

That would have been great but of course they would have edited out the Hummer

I am in western PA, flash flood warning are every where in PA today. I can only imagine Paragon today. I have never been there but it is early in the summer still. We usually go to the Alleghenies to 4 wheel. Lots of old roads that have been washed out , stream crossings, and fire breaks. I had my phone cam but never thought of filming it until afterwords.

I would love to see some pictures of Paragon in this weather. At the Hummer Club event last year we got nailed. The trails where like rivers.

BTW has anyone else in the rest of the country heard what the Mayor of Hazleton is doing? He is taking the spotlight away from Geno's steaks. Pennsylvannia people are really making waves.

Just wondering if it has made national news yet.

Nice job Scout.

H2 Rocks and OldHiker are @ Paragon today. They said it has been raining- a lot. Good for the mud but I wonder, I have been up there in the rain but I don't think for that much. One of you all should meet up with them if you can.

Great Job guys! Driving a superior vehicle makes for a superior rescue experience! ;)

I love Paragon and don't mind it at all in the rain. I get the feeling that a lot of the trails are going to be REALLY washed out though. Ought to be an interesting day.

CP - I thought you and Ken were going to be there too? Oh well. Maybe next time.

No. I would have gone by myself and with my record of breakage I would have had an extended stay. I am man enough to drive but not man enough locate problems or the people that fix them.;)

Ummm CP... From the pics I've seen you don't really fit into the "Man" catagory :p :D. Either you meant to add a WO prefix or you truly are the AE from HELL!

And what the hell does that say about Ken!!! ;)
