I dont have the Gobi, just a smaller half rack and I use it to tote my spare tire on trips out of town. Daily drivin, the spare sits in the garage. also have used my rack to haul camp firewood, camping gear, Big cooler full of brewskies on race nights:D

Sea Kayak
WW Kayak
Mtn Bike (x2)
Road Bike
15 gals of h2o
10 gals fuel
20# propage tank
2 spare tires
recovery gear (strap, brake pads, compressor, gloves, etc)
hi-list
Shovel
axe
food bins
camping equipment

Right now it has the follwing:

Spare, shovel, axe, hi-lift, kayak mounts
