View Full Version : unlock door trick
This could be B.S. , but i believed the person telling me. IF you lock your keys inside your car and dont have on-star. Call your sibling at home and have them put your remote key fob up to the phone and push unlock. It will unlock the door. I dont know if the person at home has to be on a cellular or land line but i'm curious if someone has tried this. DOug

The myth says it must also be from a cell phone. Someone posted this on my Corvette Forum and someone actually tried it thinking it would work.

I'm sure they do. I once got one that said for every person I sent it to Microsoft would send me 100 bucks. Ha Ha I wonder how many people fall for those? And even more so who has the time to think that crap up?
Yes, it is FALSE (http://www.snopes.com/autos/techno/keyless.asp).

An RKE system transmits an encrypted data stream to a receiver inside the automobile via an RF (radio frequency) signal, a signal that can't be effectively relayed via cell phone. (In any event, RKE systems and cell phones typically operate on completely different frequencies; the former in the 300 MHz range and the latter in the 800 MHz range.) </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

And now direct from Vilnius, Lithuana, it's me.
Ken, in that link it refers to "a "left-handed smoke-shifter" (a device reportedly employed to prevent campfire smoke from drifting into one's tent)." Does this work for standing around a campfire?
No. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif But it does work for getting smoke OUT of a tent. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
