Hey guys,

Long time no see. I'm back to ask you resident experts what you think of going from an H2 SUV to an H2 SUT? I'm going to get an '06, and can't decide between the two.

Help me with this stuff:
racks for SUT, are they available?
Cargo space in SUT, worth it?
Nav system, must have or toy that doesn't live up to expectations.
Wind noise on SUT...how does that rear window fit?

Thanks so much and good to see you guys again,
Kelley

I have a 2005 SUT, love it...

Cargo space is good, the bed is not long but pretty deep. Love the NAV, and no windnoise in mine.

Roof Racks are available...

Hope that helps...

Hey Kelley. It's been awhile.

We just got an SUT (http://elcova.com/groupee/forums/a/tpc/f/5106011751/m/9421059641/p/1) and love it.

I drove an SUV all around...and it was just not for me, and there were many more blind spots than what I was used to. (coming from a truck)

The SUT just worked best for me! http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif I have not looked back yet!! http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Kelley, they are both awesome. I guess it depends on what you want to do woth it the majority of the time.

If you shop a lot or often put things in the back in lieu of the back seat. Then you should probably go for the suv. I never put anything in the back, always in the backseat or pass side seat. The SUT is very functional for plant transport, logs, rocks whatever.

It will be great for wheeling because the back window gives you access to the rear if you get caught in the mud and need to attach a strap (not monkey around like BRKLN http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif)You can keep your gear in it, have easy access to it and not worry too much about anything getting dirty.

To me there is no difference sound wise and driving with the windows, sunroof and the rear window down is very fantastic.http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Where have you been Kelley?????

SUV or SUT will unltimately boil down to which look suits you. There's not much advantage of either when it comes down to performance.

SUT looks badass if done up right. For me, SUV only because of me kids and keeping things within reach in the back.

Uhm, no. LOL Kelley is not into pottery. Kelley was from California, recently relocated back to midwest. I'm the one that was on the board of the National Hummer Club before I quit in disgust.

I have a pewter '03, and am looking for my new '06.

Just been on a long break from the forums.

I've been around. Busier than hell lately. Kids are now a factor, we have a 2-year old son (whose fourth word was "Hummer")

Hey Kelley! So you went back to SD? Nice to see you.

SUV is better for me, as the back is just so much more useful. Can store more stuff and keep it locked/protected/dry.

But if that' not an issue for you the SUT is way cool and my advice is just go with your gut. Good to try something new.

I've had both (SUV's actually twice). My SUT had no build problems (wind, leaks, etc.), but I found that I never really used the bed and missed the third row seat (3 kids...). Driving with the rear window down was pretty cool, but I just recently decided to go back to the SUV again. It works better for me, but you'll have to decide what fits you best. You can't lose either way. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I really like the SUT, but it's not practical for me(are H2's Practical? http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif) because i need the rear storage space in the SUV. But don't get me wrong, I LOVE MY SUV http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

My wife really liked the look of the SUT better than the suv and since I only wear the shorts in the family we bought the sut. Also, I have a montero sport and a dodge ram pickup. So I did not lose functionality. I am still able to do everything that I need. Anyways, when I buy another H2, I will go with the SUT again.

Of course Alec, at the same time that I take up embroidery...because all women who 'wheel seriously need a softer side, right? http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif
