Thank you for contacting HUMMER! We are pleased to learn of your interest in
our vehicles and appreciate your enthusiasm! There are many factors that
influence the production of a model line. Availability of materials and
customer demand influences the rate of production as well as cost. HUMMER
reserves the right to make changes at any time, without notice, in prices,
colors, materials, equipment specifications, models and availability. At this
time, HUMMER has no plans to offer the Duramax Diesel in the H2. To install a
diesel engine in the H2 is considered cost prohibitive and would require a total
reconfiguration of the vehicle.

The Vortec 6000 High Output V8 and heavy-duty 4L65-E four-speed automatic
transmission with overdrive offer the best-in-class power and performance. The
Vortec 6000 pumps 325 horsepower at 5200 rpm and 365 lb.-ft of torque at 4000,
capable of out-muscling and out-torquing H2's premium off-road competitors. A
standard 4.10 axle ratio, combined with the transmission's deep first-gear ratio
and transfer case low-range gear reduction, provides an excellent 33:1 crawl
ratio for very slow, controlled, high-torque rock and obstacle climbing
capability.

If you have any additional questions or would like to receive product
information on any of our other vehicles, please write back or contact HUMMER at
1-800-732-5493, between 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday.
Again, thank you for contacting HUMMER!

Sincerely,

Blake Burns

Blake gives a great response. It requires a total reconfiguration of the vehicle. It shows when they totaly reconfigure the Tahoe/Suburban/Yukon line, give 5 or 6 engine options and still no Diesel. Great work. Is GM missing the point.

They have crammed it in test vehicles and it don't work. Right from Susan D. she said a year ago they were looking at a isuzu motor. The H2 will come out with a Duramax in full size pick-up form only. Look for it within the year as a concept.
