Hey how?s it going?

I am going tomorrow to pick up my new H2 SUV hoping you could help me with a few things

Do you recommend getting the navigation system is it good do you find yourself using it and is it worth the extra $$$.

Spare tire front back what do you think?

Any hummer owners from Orange County what?s the reception you get in your truck good bad.

Just excited about moving to a new truck old truck was a 1999 Isuzu Rodeo.

dont use it much but got it, u should be able to basically "demand" what bells and whistles u want and get them for a good deal, esp now when buying a hummer, id shop around if i were you, if u dont get what u want at the first dealership

Aftermarket Nav's are WAY BETTER, and CHEAPER!

I have the Eclipse AVN2454 in my H2 and it's AWESOME, we have the OEM in the Escalade and it's ADEQUATE

BTW, I use my Nav quite often, plus it is used as my DVD player for my visor and headrests :)

Well an update went today to a dealer to try to make a deal on a new H2 SUV

Terrible experience the sales people at first would not help me and this was in a near empty dealership on a Sunday no less.

When I was finally helped if you can call it help they would not allow me to take a test drive when he told me this I simply left I had the feeling he thought I could not afford the truck or was just looking.

Is this the kind of treatment you received at your dealership when you went to buy your truck?

I am not sure if it is because I am young 22 or what but it seems to me that they just do not want to sell cars.

Any input on this would be greatly appreciated.

The reception you received is abnormal and unacceptable.

Damn, that sucks about them not helping you....though I bet they thought you couldn't afford it. Which is stupid, no matter if you can't or can, you should get service NO MATTER WHAT!

As for the accessories, I know that some in here are big on aftermarket, but I like to unwrapped the present fully loaded. It makes everything a bit more real. I mean, if you buy a basic hummer, and they afterwards you plan to "Bling" Or "Non-Bling" it up...you have to put in the time and money. On one hand you'll have it just the way you want, and like no other. On the other hand, look at all the time you'll waste. Personal opinion, I'd buy it with all the bells an whistles.

On a second note, I have the Nav in my 04, and I do very much enjoy it, use it all the time. Now, my parents have a Lexus LX470 with a touch screen/voice activate Nav....and besides not being touch screen I prefer the Hummer/GM Model. Call me crazy. The Only one negitive comment I have is, the Nav/CD use the same slot.

buy it from another dealer and take it the first one for an oil change. while they change the oil, ask the sales person that snubbed you and the manager a couple of questions about the features. then let it slip for the manager that you were in to buy, but the slack ass sales person would not sell:D

Agriv8r was right. Buy it somewhere else. At least you live in an area where you have a choice.

I had a buddy who wanted a Z8. He went to the stealership and waited for a while before someone finally came up to help him. The sales guy that helped him was genuinely upset that he had waited for so long for help...long story short, the guy paid cash for it and then bought the sales guy his own dealership...

Borrow a friend's Hummer and drive it to this dealer. When that salesman jumps you tell him your going to start using the "old" Hummer off road and want another one to keep clean for work.

After he grows a huge wood say something like "well, I kinda liked the way I got treated at (other dealer's name) and I was just looking to see if you had any time for me today since you blew me off last week when I came in". Go on and tell him you are ready to buy from the other place and watch how fast he starts throwing in things to sweeten his deal.

Who knows - maybe you are lucky he ignored you the first time. You may get a better deal.

Remember though, you have seen his real face and you will see it again if you do business with him. I guarantee it!!

You should organize a group Hummer run, as many members as possible...and just pull into the dealership at the same time....Id like to see the "&^%$" face then...

Hey how?s it going?

I am going tomorrow to pick up my new H2 SUV hoping you could help me with a few things. My comments are below in blue font.

Do you recommend getting the navigation system is it good do you find yourself using it and is it worth the extra $$$. I am 100% happy with my factory navigation system. I use it quite a bit.

Spare tire front back what do you think? Definitely get the exterior tire carrier. I put a locking lug nut on mine because I'm paranoid.

Any hummer owners from Orange County what?s the reception you get in your truck good bad. I live in South Bay, drive my H2 everywhere, and have never had a problem.

Just excited about moving to a new truck old truck was a 1999 Isuzu Rodeo. You'll love the H2. We've had ours for about 15 months and it is still a treat to ride in. We haven't had a single thing go wrong with our Hummer. Hope you have the same experience.

As much as I hate auto dealers...

What happened to you was a result of many young lookie-loo's before you wasting their time.

But, the salesman I bought the new Porsche from took me for many test drives and everytime I rolled up in a Focus.

Your salesman was probably just lazy.

When you are young this is a annoying, when you are a little older it is fun to f$%^ with them, then it just gets to be a pain in the a$$ and you just present yourself so that people don't mistake what you can afford.

I hope you get a good deal out of this...

Good luck.

In my opinion, once its broken in the bose system is really not bad if you aren't into heavy bass, and i'm thinking about not ripping it out for an aftermarket system. Its no small task to replace a factory bose, as you have to gut the entire system and start over as bose tends to hide little amps and EQs here and there, and said amps and EQs are designed to work with the crap-quality bose speakers and not normal speakers.

But that said i think aftermarket NAV systems can easily be found that are superior to the factory system in my truck.

All things considered, i'd vote skip the factory nav, and get a Garmin hand-held unit. Just a thought.
