It might just be me, but I thought tan and gray were two different colors? Also, if I wanted the "wheat" color part, how could I be sure that I would recieve the tan instead of the gray?

I agree, the "lame" part of this is that you stated 2 different variations of "wheat".

Ok so to clear this up 100% here we go:

There are only TWO factory colors made for H2's. Wheat and Ebony

People confuse Gray/Tan and think they are different. They are the same. Someone somewhere came up with these colors cause some people think they see gray and some people say "that looks tan to me" OEM color code is WHEAT.

If you have Black or a very dark looking seat seats then you have EBONY

I know for a fact that I have gray seats. I think you are confused because ebony sounds correct because of the song ebony and ivory and ebony is black in the song and ivory is white so HUMMER doesn't make white seats but they do make black of which where HUMMER makes black seats from the factory where they make both wheat and black seats installed in the H2 OEM not counting anyone who changes the seat color in any aftermarket circumstance.
I hope this clears up everything 100%
