i installed a 1 farrad cap on my stereo system because the lights seems to dim when the bass hits. well, after the cap install, the lights still dim. i double checked the cap to make sure it was holding a charge and everything is fine. what could be the problem?

well the cap really wont help anything.. ...what kind of amps do you have.. ? a sencond battery would help and or a bigger alternator. check out this websight their is a ton of really good information here.. you might wanta do something called the big 3 they talk about it here, check it out.: hope it helps.

Here's an easy fix- turn it down. If you're drawing enough power to impact the balance of your electrical system then you're listening in the "look at me" range.
The H2's electrical system is a combination of A/C and D/C voltages with most of it being on the D/C side post-alternator. If your stereo is pulling down the line voltage then the balance of the components sharing that system will suffer. The filter caps on the 5v logic side will only tolerate spikes for so long before they fail and take out your module.
You can patch it up with caps and back-up power supplies and it will run, but consider the long term effect on your hearing. I like to listen as much as the next guy, but moderation is the key. Too loud, too long and you'll be sorry.

I understand what your saying but my sound system is not that loud. I'm only running 2 amps...1 on the mids & highs & 1 on a 10" sub. I've had way more sound system than this before in a jeep cherokee and didn't have a problem like this after I installed a red top optima and a 1 farrad cap. I've already been through the look at me stage when i was younger. Now, I listen to my music with the windows up. Yes, i like it loud but not that loud...I just like to feel the music.

Your problem is the cap your using. The only cap that actually works is the Alumapro. I've done major systems with up to 2500 real watts (Diamond Audio) and have only used the Alumapro caps. They are much heavier than the other caps out there and actually reduced the drain on your electrical system.
