I did a search and came up empty handed. I want to get some clear tape to use with my magnets that wont leave a residue. Also, I need to pic it up at Walmart, or Homedepot, Ace, etc as I am leaving for Tellico on Friday.
What is the brand of the clear that eveyone is using now a days?

Hurricane Tape. :perfect10s: :dancingbanana:
Seriously, I'm not just pimping for my Northern Messican brother - that tape is really great. I use it on all kinds of stuff. And for packaging boxes it's amazingly strong.
You'll love it for shields because of the low residue adhesive.

Sounds good except I am a dumb arse and waited until the last minute. I've got to pick up something local. Whats been going on up North West DRTY? Same old same old here, except they are threatening to close Tellico.

I'm not sure if it's reach Walgreens in that neck of the woods yet but you could go in and ask.

Painters tape! Easy to work with and no residue(after sitting on my truck for 6 days). IMO painters tape is much better than the stuff the sheilds come with.

We have walgreens here (just for the last few years though). Which tape do they carry?

Oh Alan, I wish I would have seen this earlier, I dunno if I sent some Hurricane Tape to Tellico now if it would get there.
Painter's tape is okay, I have no idea what colors they come in tho.
Have fun, watch out for roots and stumps.:giggling: ;)

When I used to use shields :giggling: I used painters blue tape. I left it on for over 4 weeks while I cruised up and down the right coast. Even left it on while I was in South Florida for two weeks.
Downside - once it gets wet, it comes off. No residue. Painters tape is available everywhere.
Ken's tape is very good. Heavy duty with no residue.

I've tried 3m blue painters tape, but down here with 100deg heat and a black truck it left some residue and was only on for a few hours.

Make sure it is the 3M brand, not some chinese ripoff. My truck is black and I drove for 4 weeks with the shields being taped with the 3M brand tape. I was in Margate for a week and then spent another week on the west coast of Florida visiting. Tape stayed on until I returned home to New Yawk.

Since the H2 could not pull a decent sized travel trailer (I'm not trailer park trash:giggling: ) we decide to get something to pull the Hummer. So we bought a motorhome and next spring we will start our next trip.
I'll let you know, as I head down to Florida for a family reunion.
As far as keeping my truck, it's broke in the way I like it.;) Why change?
