Lift Kits

Im going with the Fab-Tech 6" lift and i want a real think tire but i dont want something thats goign to wear down after a while, im using mine for street porpuses mostly, I wanted to know if anyone had any suggestions. Also i wanted to know how the lift is going to effect my gas milege. Thanks in advance

I have the 6" FT too with 38 Toyos like Phils. I get 11.5 but I dont wheel much...mostly Hwy travel

I'm running the Goodyear MTRs, they have about 18,000 miles on them and show hardly any wear at all. They're one of the harder compound tires out there.

The last three sets of off-road tires were BFG A/Ts, then siped GY MTRs on my Sierra, and then back to the stock BFGs on my H2. Couple of comments and then one question:
I think the MTRs must have somewhat better sidewall protection and are probably better in the mud and maybe other applications and have better sidewall tread than the BFGs, but I have noticed the BFGs seem to have much better traction on wet pavement, snow, and ice than the MTRs. Maybe it's because of the harder rubber on the MTRs.
Both of those tires have triple-ply sidewalls. I've noticed that even some of the really aggressive off-road tires only have double sidewalls. Are triple-ply sidewalls always better in protecting against sidewall punctures than double-ply tires? Or does it depend on the type of sidewall plies or something else?

Mine are 15.5's. I think its the flares. Hmmm wonder where I can get a good deal on some? (THATS YOUR QUE PHIL FOR MORE SHAMELESS ADVERTISING)
