Wow is that expensive! Powdercoating would definitely look very good, you can even get it with a high gloss finish. I've been searching for new rims for a while and the only thing I found with a descent design is in chrome, I will be powdercoating them without a doubt.
Why not buy chrome rims and have them powder coated the way you want, where you want? You could have custom rims without the cost.
9K?? F that, look into Permastar. Should run you about $225 per rim in black chrome.

I knew that process wasn't cheap, but that's just insane. Well, you do own a HUMMER, so you can afford it. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
So what about anodizing? I know you can get that look for waaaayyyyy cheaper. But I'm not sure on how it will hold up to scratches.
Powder coating is cheap. I had the factory ones PC'd. It was around $300 for all 5 rims. I went with a flat finish rather than a high gloss because mine goes off road.
So there's another option for that "black Chrome" look. Good luck.
Tim.
