Hey guys I own 4 h2 limos in my limo company. Some of them are over 100k miles on the original transmission. I want to buy a spare transmission to have on the shelf when one of them has a problem. Do any of you have any suggestions about this? Didnt hummer change from teh 4L60 to the 4L65 transmisson after 2003 or something like that? My h2 limos are mixes between 2003 and 2004s. Can you guys give me some advice? Should I buy the 4L65 will it fit all h2s? Also these hummer limos seat up to 25 people so they do alot of extra work and the stock trannys have held up good for up to 150k miles in one of my h2s.
Thanks!

Sorry can't help with your question, but it's good the hear
150k on a h2 especially a limo. Is the motor and rear end
original too?

If you look at a 465 from the exterior it looks identical to a 460 except for a very small bulge on the passenger side and should be a straight bolt on. An updated 4L60-E, the 4L65-E (RPO M32), was phased in for the 2004 model year H2 coupled behind the 6.0 Vortec. There are five-pinion planetaries, along with a higher capacity input housing and induction hardened input shaft assembly, that were beefed up to withstand up to 400 ft·lb of torque. The 465 also has the heavy duty torque converter which was originally designed with the Corvette in mind. We have GMC trucks with this transmission that have gone 250K, as long as you change fluids every 30,000 (GM recommends 50,000). One of the big problems with supercharging is the torque converter can't handle the additional torque with both the 460 and 465.

Thanks for the info Hummerman! Yes all my h2s have the original engine, original trans, and original rear end. Although my one and only cadillac escalade limo has had the rear end and engine replaced at separate times and that has alot less miles too!
Will the 4L80e / 4L85e fit in the h2 without major modifications? What do you suggest?
