I am sure you guys can all appreciate this, but I went out of my typical car buying process when I bought my H2 in 2005. I bought it purely on instinct and wasn't even looking for a new rig (not to mention paid top dollar at the time). I am frugal (girlfriend would say cheap) but no other vehicle in my somewhat vast collection over the years has made me as happy (1985 CJ-7 is a distant second).
Everyday I drive it or even look at it, I love the style, innovation, off-road prowess, stance and sometimes I even appreciate the dumbasses who ask me how many miles per gallon I get. Even being "fugal" every dollar I pay for gas has tremendous ROI for the pleasure I get out of owning this truck. Although I am just beginning to make some mods to my truck, I suspect I will never get rid of this vehicle unless I chose to upgrade to a newer model.
Not really sure why I am writing this, but I read this board everyday and I have learned a lot from all of you. I don't think I am dying or anything....but just wanted to share.

:iagree: My Hummer is by far the best truck I have every owned. I dont even care about the gas prices. I live in Germany and drive all over the place in it and the fun part is getting my photo taken while i drive down the road by kids using there cell phones.

I have to agree with you 100%! Driving my Hummer has made driving fun again, and when all that snow hit last week, the H2 went right through it and the seat heaters were keeping me nice and warm. They're comfortable and they can tackle almost any weather conditions. To me, it's a styling statment too - like those cars in the 50s and 60s when you could tell each model from 100 yds, now they all look the same. I'd rate it the best SUV/truck I've ever owned and I still have a soft spot for my old CJ-7. My wife keeps saying either drive your Z06 or sell it, but I find myself going to the Hummer instead of the Vette when I just need to go out for something and might even end up trading it for another Hummer.

I've been driving H2s for seven years now and would NEVER think of having anything else for my primary vehicle. It puts me in a good mood every time I drive it and I love what it does to the snow in Northeastern winters. I'm older than most here and have owned a ton of cars and trucks and nothing compares to the H2 for fun and comfort.
What is it about H2 owners and Corvettes and sports cars??? I too have a Corvette (1995 red ZR1 bought new - 6th Corvette I've owned) that my oldest son thinks that I drive it so little I should just sell it to him (for practically nothing). I am of the opinion that unless it's bought for collector car value, either drive what's in the garage or get something you like to drive. Luckily my wife realizes that since the house came with a 4 car garage, every bay should have a car!

I guess our story is similar too.
We had a Chevy Avalanche and traded it in after
test driving our Hummer around the block 3 years.
Every gives you grief about how much money you make,
price of gas, how big it is and so forth.
But if you let them ride in it they all agree that it huge but
it rides better than a Cadillac and they wish they could afford
one too.

You hit the nail on the head! No one believes how well the H2 rides until they get into one. I have a friend with an Escalade and although it's faster, he agreed with me after going to lunch with me in the Hummer, that my H2 rides better. People expect it to ride like a truck, not as smoothly as it does.

What were #1 and #2?
Sounds like the basis for a new thread!

You guys are right, I love my H2. I think I'm going to sell my Grand National because I just dont drive it anymore, the Hummer is more fun. I will keep it until it doesnt run anymore, then I'll put in my yard and use as a planter or something.

Were in the same boat and I also share your thoughts. Just bought my 2009 H2 back in August 09. It's my every day rig and I love it. Two of my friends are now juicing to get one. It is by far the best Rig I have owned and I'm 66 going on 28.
I also have a 65 Corvette with a 502 BB and 5 speed tranny and Allens Side Pipes that goes out every week end to terroize the neighborhood as long as the roads are clear and dry.
The H2 is like riding in your living room at highway speeds. Can't wait for the snow to hit here in South Joisey. This summer I plan on doing some Off Roading and taking a trip to Canada with my Brother. I'll probably rent a nice travel trailer for the H2 to Tow.
My 2007 H3 WAS a Blast off road and ran like a top and was loaded out. But the H2 is a whole nother animal. It lives out side 24-7 and I don't have to worry about the standard stuff when leaving a car outside.
It gets spray washed ..(NO RUBBING ON THE PAINT).. twice a week and has a nice coat of Carnewba Wax on the paint for the winter.
I'm in Hog Heaven.......:clapping:
