Rhyno

The time has come for a change and I have sold my H2 SUT and now I am HUMMER less! Since there are no new Hummer products I don't think I will be getting another one so I have to change brands. I have had a H2 SUV a H3 SUV and a H2 SUT. The tuff part was picking a vehicle that matched the H2 in looks and offroad capability. There is not many vehicles like the H2 but I decided on a Mercedes G550. I don't need a hardcore wheeler but I want style and comfort with a unique look so a G was a easy choice. Thanks for letting me be a part of this forum and thanks for answering all my questions!!!!

I will be back when Hummer makes the H4 lol

Sad to hear, but i completely understand. I often think to myself if i had to give up or get rid of my truck , what would i replace it with. The G55 is very nice. I have spent a bunch a time in it as one of the docs i work with has a 2010 G55 AMG . Front and Rear Locking Diffs, great interior, supercharged v8, etc. I feel when im in it like it is a super super fancy Jeep and i say that cause the ride reminds me of a jeep (though much better) . I just wish it sat up a little higher and had bigger tires ( but easily can fix)

I think im gonna get this when my truck kicks the bucket

I have been pondering the same. With less and less parts becoming available it's easy to let go. I just can't see myself spending all this ridiculous amount of cash to get her where she is now and letting go of her. All I know my replacement has to be a Diesel truck or a Range Rover!!!

Why do manufacturers always do this.Tease you with great stuff like this, and then never put it into production.Or if they do.Its a very watered down version.

I feel ya on that...give me a garage with this GMC, an Hx, and concept Corvette and I'll be happy.

I hate to say it ('cause I'm not a big fan), but the only manufacturer that tends to put concept designs straight out to market is Chrysler; Prowler, Viper, etc. They may not stay on the market long, but at least they looked pretty much just like the prototype.

In fairness to GM they did stay on track with the Camaro. The production version stayed close to the concept albeit apart from the wheels.

I have to say though. That when it comes to pick-up trucks. You yank fella,s sure know how to build them.Forget the Jap rubbish(Tundra excepted) U.S stuff is the way forward:beerchug:

Yeah...I'll give you the Camaro; it is very close to the concept.

I appreciate the compliment on American trucks...Toyota and Nissan are trying damn hard though to build a 'big truck.'

It's funny, for years I wondered why they called the Tundra a 'full size' truck when it clearly was smaller than an F150...I always assumed that the Japanese screwed up their calculations when converting Imperial to Metric...lol. At least now it's truly full size...

If I ever part with my H2 then the G55 is the only way to go. I already have a Range Rover as my daily driver so my H2 just sits in the garage most of the time. I've been looking at the G wagon for a while now but I just can't part with my H2 just yet...I would love to be able to have the G wagon, Range Rover and the H2 all together though.

Hmmm...I'm just not sold on European automobiles. Your repair cost are going to be through the roof. Don't get me wrong...Gs are nice...they feel solid...I guess I'm just a fan of the 'big three;' even though they might not be SO 'big' anymore.

The repair is cost on a Mercedes Benz is like any other car, but if you have the correct warranty there is nothing to worry about. We are on our 3rd Benz and they have been nothing but excellent. The info on the site below has been very beneficial.

The G Wagon aka W463 section has limited member due to the rarity of the vehicle. G-Wagon owners are very consertative and will hiss & snicker at the site of an over done, shinny rims,etc.. but other than...its all good talk.

The G wagon is the only SUV that I gawk over! Once you sit in it and you hear that door slam with that ole school sound (THUNKKK)....you will be sold.

I know how you feel and sorry to see you go Rhyno, but so far I've found nothing I like as well as the H2. The dealer let me have a Raptor for the afternoon and it rode like a tank. Nothing has the distinictive looks and capabilities of the old H2! Maybe I'll stop by on my next trip up to Kluane National Park in the Yukon in my H2.

Check out the new Ford F150. I know....but check out the videos on the 2011 on the ford site. That ecoboost V6 twin turbo puts out 365HP, and when hooked to a 10,000 trailer next to the dodge V8 and GM, the twin turbo f150 pulls away climbing hills. Durability?....watch what they put that motor through.

If I do need to trade one day, im going with that truck.
