Does anybody ever get cautious about taking your rig somewhere and some douche bag just laying open their door on it? Pisses me off! I have two dents in my rear driver side door, which is hardly noticeable, but still there..Makes me mad when someone thinks its funny to put a big ol' mark on your ride.

Yeah...I usually park a bit farther out. I figure the extra walking is good for my health. :)

That's the only thing I miss about the side steps...most car doors would hit them first.

SIDE NOTE: What AMP research steps do you have?

Your sig indicates that you have AMP Research Steps:

-----------------------
'08 Birch White SUT
20" BMF S.O.T.A Wheels
35"X12.5"X20" Toyo Open Country M/T
AMP Research Steps
10" JL Audio sub w/ box and amp
-----------------------

I was wondering which steps you have...the PowerStep or the BedStep?

I park far away and often look for end spots, Im a freak about avoiding door dings..... my wife is trained pretty good now too as I constantly lecture her about parking in a "good spot"

H2's are wide enough to look for a bigger spot or open spots to park. I usually park where no cars around(usually further away from entrance of shop). It really doesn't matter if you have H2 or Corolla, if someone not being careful opening their door, you will get dings, unless you pack a magnetic side protector everwhere you go..

You just need to get up a little higher in the air ;)

I'm more worried about opening my door and shattering someones side window out parked next to me than someone being high enough to dent me. Thats why I usually park out twards the end.

Same here, I always double park, and take up two places. I normally park them out pretty far, but its worth the walk to keep from getting your doors banged up.

Nope! Although I love my h2 to death, I treat it like a utility vehicle. Detail it once every 2 years, wash it every 6 months or so. Have way too many small dents to count. I learned along time ago to use (semi abuse it) and enjoy it and not worry about the minor things. That being said I have an exotic and treat it the same way....

I almost completely agree...I'm on about the same wash schedule you are. It's a rugged, utility vehicle...and that's how mine always looks.

That said...mechanically speaking it gets my full attention. Oil changes and tire rotations are done with religious precision, as is all other routine maintenance. It might not be shiny, but it runs well...

We differ on dings and dents though...I have two categories for body damage: 'street damage' and 'trail damage'. Someone backs into you in the Home Depot parking lot...street damage. You slide down a pile of rocks and smack into a tree...trail damage. I'd have street damage repaired in a heart beat, but trail damage is like battle scars...unless it impacts the trucks ability, it's there for life...plus there's always a 'story' behind trail damage.

I do have to say, I baby mine but I do that with my FORD Escape also, (I’m a blinger hate me:giggling: ) I can’t see beating up a truck just because it can handle it. Now I did have one person stop me and tell me they saw the “wind” had rolled a shopping cart into my passenger door and you might want to check the door out and sure enough a shopping cart had dinged the door below the H2 logo but side rail took the most of the hit which was minor.
