anybody have an idea why my electric steps are now intermitant after a flawless 6 years?

well what the hell is it doing? No issue w/ mine, yet.

Open the door and step doesn't go down. Very random. When it is down close the door sometimes doesn't go up. Was just the right side now it's both sides randomly.

has there been any work done recently on your rig? stereo install?
Going off memory, each door has a signal tap going to it, wires running under the inner door sill/plate. If your marker lights or door seals are ****, that area fills up w/ water.
There really isn't much to these steps, You have a switch and a motor. Glancing through that troubleshooting doc they lay it out pretty good for you.
If you didn't install them yourself, there is a specific h2 install guide there also. Read over that first, then go over troubleshooting.

Use an electrical meter, test light wont verify proper voltage.
