thanks,i have removed brush guard, luggage rack, rear tire carrier, chg'd all fluids to synthetic, found the 2 broken manifold bolts, the rear one on each side, soaking in bp blaster, but to answer your question, yes a couple of things, dechroming a little, thinking about a different wheel/tire setup...is there any advantage to these 20" wheels other than the look,17"tires are alot cheaper,i suspect tires alittle closer to stock size may improve mpg,i'm getting 13mpg on dic,12.8 on calculator,so that may be as good as it gets i don't know

I don't think you will see much if any improved gas mileage with the 17's, plus most people want to get rid of the 17's and go to 20" and up anyway... The pic you posted is small, but your rims you have on now seem to be nice. I wouldn't get rid of them, one thing you got out of the way for mods and don't have to worry about...

it rides great with the 20"wheels,tires are like new nitro's,so there's no hurry to chg them, for now just going thru it fixing what i can, with 50k on odometer i hope theres not too much wrong....

I agree s_c5519, you won't see much better gas mileage than what you've reported. It's more the weight of the wheel (tire + rim) that impact MPG; if it weights more, it's harder to turn. As you read around you'll find that 12.8 is a pretty high number for these trucks.

Regarding 'advantages' of 20" rims...I'd say 'street looks'. If you're planning on off-roading then I'd say go with a smaller rim size...more rubber, less metal.
