I had an H2 engine with 108,000 miles and no real spunk to speak of especially
when towing my boat. I considered a supercharger as I have read alot of good
remarks about that but my engine was tired and supercharging a tired engine is
not a good idea. I settled on a 408 stroker conversion. I did alot of reading before hand and learned quite a bit. I did the build myself being a longtime mechanic. There are a few tricks but all in all pretty straight foward... Long story shortned I could not be happier.. I have about 450HP and atleast the same
torque and this truck on 40" tires is a blast to drive... I used the Delco 8.1 marine injectors and have the tuning about 95% where it should be..
Just wanted to tell anyone considering this that the outcome with a mild cam added is very good and I am glad to help by anwsering questions if anyone needs.
I tune with EFI live and am glad to share info if its needed.... Cheers

Two questions:

Did you do anything to beef the tranny up?

How's your MPG now?

Those are both great questions. I would possibly like to do this as well.

I had considered the Duramax like OrangeCrush did, but supercharging was a much more economical way to go for me. I DEFINITELY like the idea of the stroker engine. In 2009 I looked into an LS7 crate motor but the cost was way over what I expected, so I ended up letting Lynch supercharge it. Would love to see your pictures.
