Yeah, That thing is close to being sweet. Front end work and get rid of the soft top. That makes it look too Chevy/Ford like.

Don’t be sorry for me. I did not build it I just polished it. For what it’s worth, all the alum. was laser cut to a perfect fit, aircraft quality riveting, and assembled without a single dent, crease, or even a scratch. I knew by posting this you guys would poke fun at it and I have been giggling throughout this thread myself. It wasn’t meant to be compared to the real thing. Yes it is a bit rough around the edges, but I think they did a good job with the money invested (not much) and they (father and son) have had lots of fun doing it. The project is beautiful to them and that is beautiful to me.

The Delorean was satin or matte finished stainless steel, which IMHO would look much better than polished aluminum. The mirror finish just doesn't attract me at all. There is also dimpling around the rivets which indicates a pretty thin gage of aluminum and makes it look a little cheap.

One question: Is that a standard H1 wheelbase??

I'll bet that the guys in the colorful suits take turns driving that thing. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I am personally impressed by the time and effort put into this vehicle.
It is ideas like these, that makes this country so wonderful.
Any one has a right to express his/her ideas, and it is perfectly fine for someone else to shoot his ideas down, as long as you take the persons feelings into consideration.
I think this father and son team did a wonderful job on this project, and deserve a round of applause for spending quality time with each other.
Good Job Guys, well done!!! http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Bright Lee,

Umm, nice job, it's really, really shiny. Maybe the NHTSA can crash test it now, preferably with a train.

Welcome to my neighborhoood and thank you Mr. Rogers!!!

As a moderator I have the obligation to step-in and curtail the excessive use of extreme offenseive expression that could pose an afront to the delicate nature of some of our forum members. Bluntly put, the above statement if overly nice and completely devoid of sarcasm, negativity and ridicule: several members will no doubt find it offensive and contest its relevance to the otherwise hostile nature of this otherwise insane forum.

Please resolve yourself to incorporate some degree of offensiveness in your posting...read and learn my friend:

Like, oh my gosh...is this the tin-mans ultimate pimp-mobile or what??? If we drop it on a small country their radar will think our entire air force is attacking!!!

Beyond that, it's not even a REAL HUMMER!!!! Just look at it: is doesn't have CTIS, gear-driven hubs, the clearance is pathetic. Obviously it's just a GM frame with an IFS front-end and probably a rear-axle, fitted with a gussied-up body to resemble a real Hummer.

Nobodoy here would ever own anything resembling that!!!!!! http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

Why would anyone waste there time and money to build one? Why not take the money it takes to build one and put it into a H1 or H2.

That thing looks like a bronco someone try to make into a Hummer. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_mad.gif

I would not let my dog ride in something like that. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_redface.gif

Whomever built it is quite talented, not an easy job and it is well done. If you think about what it took to built the parts and the entire vehicle, the guy has the skills and will. If well trained and well positioned, he can do things.

Too bad it is ugly, but beauty is in the eyes of the beholders.

Sorry if I've offended anyone by voicing my opinions. I have always felt the need to stand up for the underdog, when they are being picked on.
I will stop if ya'll prefer. Please let me know!

Rick....my post to you was just a joke...nobody can get in trouble for being too Mr.Rogers-like. I think. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

But there is a favor I'd like to ask of you...some of the other forums have a left-handed smoke-shifter that we could sure use, and chance you can check into one of these things for us? http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I have been laughing so hard it hurts!!! When a few of my friends saw the tin man and silver girl they wanted me to print copies, then there friends wanted one too.
So I took a chance and went to a graphics co and had them enlarged to poster size. They are selling like hot cakes, they can’t print um fast enough.

Thanks BARBENDER!!!
