Well I busted my front windshield this past weekend. A large rock from a vehicle in front of me smacked my windshield on the drivers side. I was VERY upset to say the least. It ended up costing me 450$ by not going thru Allstate. If I used Allstate the company would have charged them 560$. My deductable is 500$.Everybody is getting taken. The insurance company gets over priced and the cost is pasted along to the public. By the way I contacted the Hummer dealer here in Dublin Ohio and used their auto glass company. Great job.

That sucks, but don't feel to bad. I am on my third winshield in 4 months. But your getting ripped off. Are you getting yours done by the stealership? I pay under $300 installed each time. Same glass as factory issued.
I realized a cracked windshield is simply the cost of owning and H2. Because of the vertical-ness you can't avoid it. I got a chip after the 2nd month and have $500 set aside for the inevitable expanding crack. In the end it's worth it.

I have 3 chips in my windshield. I just take it to the windshield repair place. They have never charged me, and it makes the chips "near" invisible, and at the very least stops them from spreading.
I figure after the 6 chip I'll get a new windshield.

In Florida all windshields are covered by insurance with no deductable and they cannot cancel or raise your insurance for two years because of a windshield claim.
Here is a link to my pics of a replacement.

Liberty Mutual sent someone out to try and fix it at NO cost. They couldn't because the crack went to the edge. I think I paid about $50 bucks, maybe $100
Someone is over paying on your windshield. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_mad.gif
Like Detonate said, just get the chip repaired. I've used the DIY kits you get at WalMart and it works fine. I had a bullseye the size of a nickel on my jeep and it's barely noticeable now.

On my way to work I got a nasty rock from a big rig, it landed right in my line of vision and was huge. I have a friend who works at an auto glass place and she only charged me $250 (my deductable is $500). Exactly 1 week later I got another chip in almost the same place, they repaired it for free. Then on a trip to Reno my hubby got another chip, this one isn't that bad. Man does it make a loud sound when rocks hit. You would think that the rock was going to fly right through the windsheild.
And you know peole in cars next to you are freaking out as they see you shout "****" and try to bail under the passenger seat... http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Went through 2 windshields in a month, both from rocks kicking up on the highway. But, as the same as Hummer man, my insurance covered it fully with no deductable or raise in insurance. I guess I'm lucky!!

I had two chips during a 48 hour span the first two weeks I had my rig and have had none since. I had my H2 since September of 2002. Knock on wood!!
OU, Deadwood is pretty sweet, huh. It seems there are a few of us on this forum that like the show.
