Dan, I guess that XM will be on the SUT as an option at last! Wooo hooo!
SUT on Media.GM.com (http://www.media.gm.com/division/hummer/index.html)
Providing uninterrupted listening pleasure while going "from here to there" is the available XM Satellite Radio, featuring 100 coast-to-coast, digital-quality channels of original music, news, sports and talk. Many of the channels are presented commercial-free. Consumers can subscribe to the basic service for $9.99 a month--less than the cost of a single CD.
Powering the H2 SUT is GM's 6.0-liter, Vortec 6000 V-8, which delivers 316 horsepower at 5200 rpm and 360 lb.-ft. of torque at 4000 rpm. The Vortec 6000 is mounted longitudinally and mated to a heavy-duty Hydra-Matic 4L65-E four-speed automatic overdrive transmission with full-time all-wheel drive. "Exceptional off-road capability and versatility in the SUT allows HUMMER owners the ultimate opportunity for adventure," said Hernandez

Check out these trim level specs for the SUT! I guess this will be the equivalent of the Adventure series on H2.

When you go to the Vehicle Media site, click on the "HUMMER at SEMA" link on the right side of the page. It'll prompt you for a password to get in, but just hit cancel. You can't see the media pictures, but then the left sidebar will open up and have all this info on a drop down menu.
Plus, there's and H1 section under it.

Wasn't the night vision supposed to be roof mounted? Well, nothing ever makes it from concept to production in the same package. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif You're prob'ly right, Hummergirl.

Wasn't the cadillac's version of night vision located in the same spot? They had this option on some of the nicer/pricier models.

They did on TV, my hubby saw it and said it was $58-60K MSRP....
Not sure which channel but he saw a commercial for it already.

SWEET! particularly if you are Avalanche inclined. Otherwise, you still can't do better than an H2 for the ultimate ride that towers (functionally) over the other SUV crowd.

The more I see the more I am thinking I may need to seel the Avalanche and the H2 and get one..........but that bed looks awful short and unless they add some horses it's sure not gonna have the power of the Avalanche with the 8.1.....
Decisions - Decisions - Decisions
The Avalanche with an 8.1, eh.... Well that only puts out 320 HP @ 4200 rpm, and 440 lb.-ft. @ 3200 rpm. What does the H2 get with 2.1 l. LESS of displacement? Could it be just 4HP less? Of course your H2 generates it's HP at 5200rpms and it's peak tourqe at 4000 rpms, but that's a lot of extra space in the 8.1 for 4 extra horses.
Then again, look at the bore and stroke differences. The H2 is bored and stroked at 4 X 3.62 / 101.6 X 92 and the Avalanche B&S is 4.25 X 4.37 / 108 X 111. That and the fact that the Avalanche runs a 9.1:1 compression ratio and the Hummer gets 9.4:1. I don't know what all that will prove, except that I'm not as big a fan of the big block 8.1 as I am of the 6.0

You're welcome. Anything I can do to confuse the issue more? http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif
Just kidding. In a personal decision, the H2 wins over Avalanche, even though some Avalanche models also qualify for the tax break, and some aren't even rated by the EPA for fuel economy, same as the H2.

Dan, where did u get that picture with the SUT near the mirage? the others that u posted below that (excluding the offraod one) all look digitally mastered yet again. that covering that those show for the bed is simply awful. but that offroad pic was really really nice. gray doesnt look as bad as i thot it might potentially be. well post anymore pics that u can find. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
- hummer33 for me
I got the pic of the SUT in front of the Mirage, and the 2 pewter Dirt Sports models off of the GM Media website. I have a login to view the pics. That's all they had though. They might look adjusted because I reduced the size. They are HUGE in original format.
The last one I forwarded from someone who posted it on the "other" list.
I'll always post whatever I have!

Those are the sweetest pix I've seen so far. I bet the SUT is going to sell really well, 30-40% of H2 sales will be SUT.

With the mid gate down, do you think there will be room for a full size ATV? I've been considering the Avalanche or a pick-up for that very reason, but would definitely consider the SUT if an ATV would fit !!

Why would the SUT be more than the H2? The H1 wagon is more than the truck version...
Its not supposed to be more expensive. The latest info says pricing in line with the SUV. The Dirt Sports model pictured above is a package that will supposedly put it up to the $58-60K range.

Drag Racer thanks for all the vital stats on both the 6.0 and 8.1.....Being as how I have both and drive both I can tell you that irregardless of the stats and purported horsepower and torque ratings the 8.1 is way more engine tahn the 6.1. It may be a BIG BLOCK with 496 cubes but it sounds and is string throughout the rpm range.
I am interested in the SUT.....my H2 isn't bad neither is my Avalanche and I may just trade em both but the SUT bed is smaller and I know I am gonna miss the 8.1.....Too bad GM doesn't squeeze it in the SUT......then they would have a 100% vehicle.

Great pix Dan.......I can imagine how excited you must be after all this wait. I couldn't do it and bought a H2......glad I did.
Imagine the kinda guy it took to get that dirt bike into the mount on the bed..... WOW!
The color must be new or a special "one off" but it looks nice.

Man, I'd hate to try and load those dirt bikes on the white SUT. That looks like a royal pain.
I think that's the proposed "Desert Sand" color.
I could get that bike up there! http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Hell, GM can't even fit the 6.6 Duramax into the H2 engine bay. When you think about it, the engine bay is pretty small in the Hummer, and the wheel wells take up a LOT of space in the lateral front of the bay. Having to put in an 8.1 would mean an angled, longitudinal mount, and that's something that would require a hell of a lot of new engineering. Pass that along to the consumer in the form of higher sticker pirces, and still no rebates, and I just don't think GM will sell that many.
Give the 6.0 some time as the standard H2 engine, and once the initial R&D costs are paid off, (Even as much as GM saves by platform sharing, it's still expensive to develop a new engine and powetrain platform) and then we'll see some engine options. I'd love to see the 8.1, and I've never driven one. I've driven the 6.0 and the 5.3, and I loved them both. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

No fair that the SUT gets that gas cap... GRRR. It's funny, but with the SUT back, it makes the whole truck look smaller and less gargantuan. Funny that. Are the dimensions the same? How about the interior? Same size there too?

The all black interior is hot! (mean that literally as well in the sun...)
Hoping that we see the all black interior as an option for the SUV.
Did you notice that the center console is also now done in leather...nice!
