Finally went down to the dealer to take a test drive after lurking here for a few weeks and I think I am going to have to buy one of these. Only problem is, they would only come about $3k off sticker price for a Lux package SUV with a sticker of $61k. What are people getting on deals these days? Any tips would be appreciated - 'cause the saved money has to go into new tires and lift!

i just read a article about invoice pricing. you could find out the invoice price, then offer 4%-8% over invoice. aparently thats a fair deal. check out intellichoice.com. you can get the invoice price with all the options. also id try bringing in internet prices from other dealers. i found one that was 230 miles away for 4,000 less, and had more options.
You should be able to work it for about $350.00 - $550.00 over cost...
Also theres a ton of Hummer dealers in Cali. I don't remember the name of the one I talked to in San Diego, but just via email they where very aggressive with price, etc.

that is WACK, my 2006 SUT stickers $61k and i am looking at $51-52k.
but i am pushing for lower, my buddy wants one too so we are going to pusj for a better discount if we buy in "bulk" http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
There is currently $2,000 dealer cash, on 2006 H2's, and $5,500, on new/leftover 2005 H2's. So, a dealer selling for $350 to $550 over invoice, as DDWH mentioned, still has a gross profit of over $3,000, including hold-back, on '06's and $7,000 on '05's.

Im new here, but have definatly bought a lot of new cars.....just getting my first H2.
Anyways, go to www.edmunds.com (http://www.edmunds.com) and look at the "TMV" price. That is what you want to pay, I had to call 6 dealers before one would give me that price.
