Does anyone think that the conversion would be worth it? Not just for me - but in your own terms. It seems like some coin to drop into a perfect truck.
I do not pull anything other than an enclosed 6X12 trailer. I don't drive too much...damn I have had it since feb and I only have 3,600 miles on it.

I know - right?
I live like .5 miles from work, so it is pretty lame! http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I used to work out of my house and never really put any miles on my vehicles. Kind of miss those days http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Me, too. Got it in mid-Feb and only 2,900 miles. I've spent more time instaling toys than driving.
HN is right, VT . . . we do need to get out more often.
As for the Duramax conversion, I don't see it. Maybe get an H2 Alpha in '07?

rodster,
Your reading my mind. That is exactly what I said to myself last night...but then today I wondered what you all thought about it!
I imagine I will wait until we see the Alpha and then go for it! I just cannot see dropping the money for the conversion.

With the amount of money you spend converting, might as well save it to pay for your gas for....the rest of your life. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Seems pretty cool, and with an added tank, you could go about 900 miles before filling again....

The Duramax conversion has been disussed many, many times. Here is just one thread of the many. Page two has a pic, though.

Not gonna happen under the EPA regs.
Aside from the fact that the Duracrap is about 2.5X the weight of the stock motor, and that the Transmission can not handle STOCK powerloading, a Diesel will shred it in seconds, the EPA will NOT allow a transplant of motor unless it's offered STOCK as an option.
But seeing as an H2 is really nothing more than a Modified Tahoe, it MIGHT be able to be snuck under the radar. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>
Sorry HD
It would be more than just the motor...and it must be you have not seen this link. I know my Tahoe, oh, I mean Hummer can take it...you trolls have me all messed in the head now too! http://www.predatormotorsports.com/index.asp?PageAction=Custom&ID=6 (http://www.predatormotorsports...com/index.asp?PageAction=Custom&ID=6)
