hey people...started a new lil project. Im installing an onboard compressor and 5 gal tank.... Im mounting the small little compressor in the right rear storage compartment....Across from the SUB.... Anyone know where I can find a constant 12V power back there.... I tried plugin it into the Cigar Lighter but the fuse blew after about 30 seconds of running the pump... The max amps on the pump is 20 amps....and the cigar lighter fuse is 15 amps.... Can I just replace the fuse with a 20amp fuse?? Id only be running the pump off of it....Or are the wire guages not approved for 20 amps?? If i cant do that, where can i do it without running wires all the way up front to the battery?? Thanks!!

If you just change the fuse, you might have to redo all the wiring after it melts.:)
You should check the trailer harness, its underneath the cargo area (under the truck). I dont know the what the gauge or the fuse on those is, but might have, or at least in my mind should have a higher rating than 15 amps.
where you planning on putting the tank? whats the psi of the compressor? how much did it cost and what brand?
sorry about all the questions but im planning on doing something similar, just havent found the right equipment yet. I need something with high psi cauze im also planning on running train horns off of it.
good luck with your project. please post some pics of the install!

Im not sure if i can use the trailer harness because I pull a trailer a lot... Not sure if it could support the trailer and air compressor....here are a few pictures i just took.....Job isnt finish of course... I do also plan on running train horns off of it too.... The tank holds 200 psi and the compressor puts out 150 psi..
