So freaking what, an old crusty white guy tried to crack a joke and it wasnt funny - big freaking deal! They are blowing this $hit way out of proportion trying to make it sound like it was a personal attack on each and every woman there.

They whine like little bitches about some imagined slight. But did you hear any black person anywhere say a god damn word about Jesse Jackson calling New York "Heimie Town" or his habitual racial extortion of huge sums of money from most every corporation in the U.S.? How about Al Sharpton condemning every white person on the Eastern seaboard over the Twana Brawley scam that turned out to be a big fat lie? Or do you ever hear them say anything about any of the brutal & vicious black on white hate crimes? Not a f*cking peep comes from them.

Man I am so sick of this $hit! This country praises overactive sensitivity to blacks but fails to care about Asians, Indians or any other ethnic group. Why? Because NO ONE CARES! Its all gay as hell! Wahhhhhhwahhhhwahhhh

You know all of these black people at this confrence bitching about a "bad joke" that are SOO offended are going to drive off from the confrence listening to "Lil Jon" on the radio talking singing about "hoes" all the way home.

Hipocracy at its greatest!

Just last night some black man broke into a young 25 yr old white girls apt across the street from me @ 4am, Tied her up and raped her then stabbed her more than 10 times.

He left her for dead! She managed to wiggle her way to the neighbors door screaming for help. She is in critical condition now and they were operating on her earlier.

Just 2 months ago another black man tried to car jack a 60 YR OLD lady at the same apartments but she surprisingly fought back kicked his ass and she shot the bastard with his own gun. hahahaha :clapping:

Sharpton is just using this as another opportunity to promote himself as a black leader. He wants to be thought of as another Martin Luther King or even Louis Farakhan (sp?). He is just an attention whore, why didnt he come out and say something about the black guy that assaulted those 2 elderly white women?

22 year broadcaster here, Time to go Imus not just for this but because he sucks. If your argument is correct it should be across the board, if I said something even close, I would be fired on the spot and fined by the FCC. I have to follow the same rules put in place by the FCC so bye bye Imus. The whole FCC media PC thing is what's wrong. Want raseist radio pay 12 bucks a month and get it on sirius or xm.

I totally agree that Imus sucks. But he, nor anyone else, should be forced out over something like this. This is almost the same thing that happened to Senator Trent Lott - except he didn't say anything and the Leftists told everyone what they thought he said.

You have a point, but does it require this public stoning by way of racial means? If blacks and the FCC want to man up, they need to hit the public radio stations as well and ban all songs with "nappy" and "hoe" in them and you can kiss all the rap stations good bye! :OWNED:

Thats my point, its ok for some (blacks) and rap radio stations to say it on the public air but not for others (whites) which is called discrimination.

So, to now drag this piss poor man out into the public and stone him to death is uncalled for.

Imus is a great man who has done many great things for society and gave/spent millions to charity and other good causes. KEEP IN MIND HE IS ONE WHITE MAN.

He made a joke that rang true. SO FUCKING WHAT?

On the flip side, we have rap music and rappers that constantly degrade women and promote crime and violence. A black society that claims exclusivity for words like nigger, nappy or hoe. WTF HAVE THEY DONE AS A WHOLE FOR SOCIETY AS MUCH AS THAT ONE MAN????

But nothing will be done about that money maker. The corruption of minds, rapes, thefts, car jackings and welfare reliance will continue because it's OK since it's being promoted by blacks.

Utter bullshit.

funny I see who listens to the Rap "white kids in your town" Don Imus is a former drug using raseist from back in the day. Do some research before defending a piece of crap like that. Our state is helping him write off his glorious ranch that servers him well before any kids of any color. I know we use to fix (his) ranch Hummer H1. I voted Rep. and have values and don't belive in the double standard but lets be fair. His own network is using him and he will be fired. Why is it ok for Michael Savage to say get aids and die, and get fired? Stern can say a cuss word and get fined millions. We did it to ourslves with creating the media into a judge of morals and give the FCC the power to push busniess owners and their talent to PC milktoast radio and television.
Rap, Don't like it, don't buy it (or let your kid or grandkids) it's your money? Rap music sales off by over 20% it is starting to go.
If Imus was a real entertainer he would have never went on Sharptons show. Sharpton is a bigger raseist then him. Sad old man trying to save his a$$. #1 power to make a change, your pocketbook, plane and simple.
Real talent doesn't need to go there to have a good show.
Michael Savage, Art Bell, Howard Stern, real radio gods

Ok question for all.....

Everyone knows Imus was laughing when he said the now infamous comment. It was a joke. So, lets take comedians. Say Chris Rock in concert making light of white people. Does this now entitle an audience member (or someone like me who saw his act on HBO) the right to file a formal complaint against him and HBO for disparaging remarks against white people????? This to me is the same damn thing.

And they wonder why folks have certain opinions/stereotypes:rant:

No it is not a public broadcast, it's pay to play but see if it will ever air unedited on regular tv. No I know why, it is taught to us by parents, and life experiences postivite or negitive. I said the f work on air and I was laughing, noone heard it so I survived. He will not so lucky. I get judged all the time and have been discriminated against. You don't have to be of color for that.

Blacks can say nigger, hoe, cracka, bust a cap in that pig and make millions singing it to our youth.

You have one white guy saying nappy and hoe all of a sudden these crusaders come out of the woodwork asking for his head?

It gets tiring when the media decides to highlight the horror everytime a white person jokes or slips up with harmless words.

Today I saw the girl her hair was down to her butt

I hope that she now, that I know it aint real

But I wont squeal not even on Andrea

Nor Tamika and Rika the famous bald head twins

Something must be done

About these citizens

I'm not a big fan of Jason Whitlock's sports collumns, but he got this one right:

Imus isn?t the real bad guy

Instead of wasting time on irrelevant shock jock, black leaders need to be fighting a growing gangster culture.

By JASON WHITLOCK - Columnist

Thank you, Don Imus. You?ve given us (black people) an excuse to avoid our real problem.

You?ve given Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson another opportunity to pretend that the old fight, which is now the safe and lucrative fight, is still the most important fight in our push for true economic and social equality.

You?ve given Vivian Stringer and Rutgers the chance to hold a nationally televised recruiting celebration expertly disguised as a news conference to respond to your poor attempt at humor.

Thank you, Don Imus. You extended Black History Month to April, and we can once again wallow in victimhood, protest like it?s 1965 and delude ourselves into believing that fixing your hatred is more necessary than eradicating our self-hatred.

The bigots win again.

While we?re fixated on a bad joke cracked by an irrelevant, bad shock jock, I?m sure at least one of the marvelous young women on the Rutgers basketball team is somewhere snapping her fingers to the beat of 50 Cent?s or Snoop Dogg?s or Young Jeezy?s latest ode glorifying nappy-headed pimps and hos.

I ain?t saying Jesse, Al and Vivian are gold-diggas, but they don?t have the heart to mount a legitimate campaign against the real black-folk killas.

It is us. At this time, we are our own worst enemies. We have allowed our youths to buy into a culture (hip hop) that has been perverted, corrupted and overtaken by prison culture. The music, attitude and behavior expressed in this culture is anti-black, anti-education, demeaning, self-destructive, pro-drug dealing and violent.

Rather than confront this heinous enemy from within, we sit back and wait for someone like Imus to have a slip of the tongue and make the mistake of repeating the things we say about ourselves.

It?s embarrassing. Dave Chappelle was offered $50 million to make racially insensitive jokes about black and white people on TV. He was hailed as a genius. Black comedians routinely crack jokes about white and black people, and we all laugh out loud.

I?m no Don Imus apologist. He and his tiny companion Mike Lupica blasted me after I fell out with ESPN. Imus is a hack.

But, in my view, he didn?t do anything outside the norm for shock jocks and comedians. He also offered an apology. That should?ve been the end of this whole affair. Instead, it?s only the beginning. It?s an opportunity for Stringer, Jackson and Sharpton to step on victim platforms and elevate themselves and their agenda$.

I watched the Rutgers news conference and was ashamed.

Martin Luther King Jr. spoke for eight minutes in 1963 at the March on Washington. At the time, black people could be lynched and denied fundamental rights with little thought. With the comments of a talk-show host most of her players had never heard of before last week serving as her excuse, Vivian Stringer rambled on for 30 minutes about the amazing season her team had.

Somehow, we?re supposed to believe that the comments of a man with virtually no connection to the sports world ruined Rutgers? wonderful season. Had a broadcaster with credibility and a platform in the sports world uttered the words Imus did, I could understand a level of outrage.

But an hourlong press conference over a man who has already apologized, already been suspended and is already insignificant is just plain intellectually dishonest. This is opportunism. This is a distraction.

In the grand scheme, Don Imus is no threat to us in general and no threat to black women in particular. If his words are so powerful and so destructive and must be rebuked so forcefully, then what should we do about the idiot rappers on BET, MTV and every black-owned radio station in the country who use words much more powerful and much more destructive?

I don?t listen or watch Imus? show regularly. Has he at any point glorified selling crack cocaine to black women? Has he celebrated black men shooting each other randomly? Has he suggested in any way that it?s cool to be a baby-daddy rather than a husband and a parent? Does he tell his listeners that they?re suckers for pursuing education and that they?re selling out their race if they do?

When Imus does any of that, call me and I?ll get upset. Until then, he is what he is ? a washed-up shock jock who is very easy to ignore when you?re not looking to be made a victim.

No. We all know where the real battleground is. We know that the gangsta rappers and their followers in the athletic world have far bigger platforms to negatively define us than some old white man with a bad radio show. There?s no money and lots of danger in that battle, so Jesse and Al are going to sit it out.

What really bothers me is that Jackson and Sharpton go under the guise of trying to bring racial equality and bring the races together. The only problem that when they do this shlt alls it does is divide the races.

Its nice to see that article and who the author was.

Yeah, Sharpton's and Jackson's income and power increase as the perception of racism as aproblem increases. The last thing they want is for racism to decline and for people to realize it. Just like with Arafat and the conflict with Isreal. He knew that he would lose all his warlord-based power if the conflict ended.

Theres always XM. Jason whitlock was just on MNSBC and called JJ and big al terrorist and that they have a track record of stirring the pot then disappearing. They try to drag everything back to the 40's 50's.
Tucker said that he was very brave for saying that. He also said JJ needs to make a path straight to the Duke men and apologize!

If Imus chooses to come back, he'll be back in some form.
If Anna Nichole was still here this would have been small stuff!!! It's about ratings and $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I loathe Jackson, Sharpton, (MS)NBC, and CBS; but, I also think Imus is a turd. I would rather drive nails into my forehead than listen to his arrogant liberal B.S.

He's an odd guy, and he sometimes can be entertaining, but he way too often adopts these superficially-popular, but stupid, liberal causes.

He's an arrogant, insecure, liberal prick. See

It's not whether one likes Cheney or not, but I truly despise comparisons of modern U.S. politicians (on either side) to Nazis (who killed/tortured tens of millions of people out of racial ideology) or others who have really committed war crimes. People who think that any U.S. leader has committed war crimes knows nothing about the recent or long-term history of warfare. We spend hundreds of billions of dollars on engaging in a war using smart munnitions and unbelievable restraint and subjecting our own troops to significant casualties in order to prevent excess destruction to the people in the lands where we are fighting. We have the power and technology to transform in minutes any part of the Middle East into what Dreden, Hamburg, Tokyo, and Hiroshima looked like in 1945. Arguably, that would not be a war crime. Certainly, what we are doing now is not a war crime.

I don't think Imus thinks in his heart that Cheney is a Nazi any more than what he said about those girls. Remember Imus is ,was, a " Shock Jock". I and others question what Cheney and others are doing. Is right, wrong? I do know. I'm not privy to classifed info. I do care what happens to my kids, Your kids, you or anyone for that matter that risks their life for freedom.
For ANY leader to put someone in harms way for no reason and to cause that person to loose their life to gain nothing is a crime.
Ask anyone who has had their loved ones head sawed off and drug through the streets if that is a crime. That wouldn't have happened if we weren't there.
That is just my opinion and I respect yours as well.

Yeah, we didn't invade Afghanistan after the 98 Cole incident and all of the other Al Qaeda acts against us when we knew they were escalating things, which would have involved risking having some military casualties. Then 9/11 happened. Yet, if we had done that, people would never know that 9/11 never happened, because people don't understand deterence, but they would know about the casualties, and they would be calling the military commanders, and perhaps Al Gore, war criminals. It's pretty silly.

If you don't believe Bush/Cheney that we didn't go in "for no reason," listen to what the Democrats were saying BEFORE we went in and things got messy; not the revisionist history now:

Second, without question, we need to disarm Saddam Hussein. He is a brutal, murderous dictator, leading an oppressive regime. We all know the litany of his offenses. He presents a particularly grievous threat because he is so consistently prone to miscalculation. He miscalculated an eight-year war with Iran. He miscalculated the invasion of Kuwait. He miscalculated America's response to that act of naked aggression. He miscalculated the result of setting oil rigs on fire. He miscalculated the impact of sending scuds into Israel and trying to assassinate an American President. He miscalculated his own military strength. He miscalculated the Arab world's response to his misconduct. And now he is miscalculating America's response to his continued deceit and his consistent grasp for weapons of mass destruction. That is why the world, through the United Nations Security Council, has spoken with one voice, demanding that Iraq disclose its weapons programs and disarm. So the threat of Saddam Hussein with weapons of mass destruction is real, but it is not new.

Do we need to be the World saviors, you tell me. What next take on Iran, China.........? When we run thin on troops then what? The men we have are tired and are going to be staying an additional 3 months on their tours.
We had the chance to get Hussein years ago and didn't. I don't have all the answers and you and I can debate this till the cows come home.

Oh and by the way, what Military division was Cheney in? Army, Airforce, Navy or Marines?

I thought you were defending calling Cheney a ?war criminal?? If he's not involved in the military chain of command, then I can't see how it could be so. If you are really saying, however, that someone involved in the military command (Cheney or someone else) sending his nation?s own troops to battle can be a ?war crime? just because some of the nation's citizens disagree with the war, then I really don?t know what to say. It?s objectively ludicrous. Few people or groups have ever been convicted of war crimes, and it?s not because of going to war. The Nazis weren?t convicted of war crimes because they invaded Poland, France, Russia, et al. It?s even more evil than unjustifiably going to war?which we didn?t. It was because they, like Saddam, gassed and tortured large numbers of civilians and the like. Bombing the sh!t out of an enemy?s military and economic infrastructure, even where it leads to civilian casualties has never been adopted as a war crime, because it advances a war aim. Genocide doesn?t. On the contrary, we?re fighting with our arms behind our backs to prevent damage to Iraq.

What you protesters will never know (I do?I was in the first Gulf War) is that, in times like these, what causes the most casualties is the resistance to the war and weakening the military commanders who fight it. Morale is almost everything in war. When troops know that they are doing something meaningful (BTW, the vast majority of them feel that, but it?s being eroded by the protestors), they fight much better with less casualties. This has been true for thousands of years. If the Democrats would magically tell the N. Koreans, the Iranians, and al Qaeda that ?look we think Bush is a dunce, and we disagree with all of his tax cuts, etc.., but, if you mess with us, we will support him 100% in his efforts to destroy you?don?t test us on that one,? the enemies would be shaking in their boots. Instead, they?re relying on the anti-war movement to do the dirty work against our own troops. A united America is unstoppable. Instead, you have Pelosi going to Damascus making up lies about what Israel is saying and, along with the Democrat leadership, trying to cut funding for the war. It?s demoralizing to our troops and inspiring to our enemies. That?s what is increasing the danger to our troops. Not the Democrat-sanctioned decision to go to war in the first place.

I'm done. I'm sure you'll take the last word and complain again about how long the debate is going on.

CBS may be paying!

Reports state that Imus's contract stated he couldn't be fired without "Warning".

Also, CBS hired for him just what he did, being controversal. He earned them tens of millions of dollars.

Clause in contract could yeild him $40 mil.

Imus has hired a First Ammendment atty.

He will settle for big bucks. CBS radio is for sale and redstone has lost the belly for fighting anymore. Radio is in BIG trouble, small owners will reemerge to offer more diverse products in the next few years as the large corprate owners go private or continue to sell off properties.

MarineHawk

Interesting. I hope the First Amendment attorney has experience with breach of contract issues because this clearly has nothing to do with the First Amendment, which states that:

"Congress shall make no law ... abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

Although the courts have extended the prohibitions beyond Congress to the executive and judicial branches of the federal government as well as the States (the latter through the Due Process clause of the 14th Amendment), the courts have yet to extend the First Amendment's restrictions to the conduct of CBS.
