Nav & DVD override?

I just bought a 2008 with the Nav and DVD entertainment sys.

Does anyone know how to override the DVD player so it plays on the dash mounted screen while driving, my wife is tired of siting in the back seat on long trips.

That GMX-320 looks fairly good and easy to install.

Has anyone ever installed "front" cameras??
