We just bought a 2006 H2. It has fog lamps on it but we cannot find anywhere on how to turn them on. The owner's manual has nothing. Anyone know?

I know that a 2006 Hummer owner will come along and respond to this, but in the meanwhile .. I had the same question about my 2008 fog lamps. On my H3 there was a button to press to get them on manually. On my H2 (at least the '08), the fog lamps are used as DRL's (daytime running lights) and come on automatically when the vehicle is put into gear. There isn't a way to manually switch them on. Correct me if I'm wrong, guys/gals. Welcome to the forum!!

Correct, the H2 have No switch for Fog/Running/Daytime lights. However you can modify them to turn on at night. You could also replace the bulbs to yellow to look and act like fogs....
Do a search for DRL's.......

I have a H2 2004 and if I put my light swith from auto (which it is normally always on) to 0, I can put off the DRL/fog lights. When it's on AUTO, they automatically come on whenever I put my truck in gear.
When you start your truck, put it in gear and then put the light switch from auto to roofmarker/sidemarker lights, the DRL/Fog lights won't be on.
If you put the light switch from auto to roofmarker/sidemarker lights BEFORE you turn on the ignition, the DRL/fog lights run together with the roof / sidemarker lights (which is pretty nice).

H2's do not have fog lights. The lower ones are day time running lights. They will come on when the truck is placed into any gear besides park. They will switch off when the headlights are on. Without modification, the daytime running lights and the head lights are never on at the same time.
Hope this helps and congradulations....

LOL .. we know they're not fog lights, but it's where fog lights are USUALLY placed on other vehicles. But as we all know .. Hummers are not any other vehicle. :D I don;t think the salesmen even think to call them DRL's. Mine said, "Oh, and your fog lights come on automatically when you drive during the day..." Go figure.

You can also put these on your lights:

I have a green hummer and they look great with the yellow. Cheaper and easier than swapping out a bulb or light.
Great post, as I've always wondered why I couldn't get these on at night either.

What confuses most new owners is the fact that you as the driver can't see it on for themselves, as the DRL will turn off whenever you put the H2 in Park and get out to look.
If you want to observe how the DRL works, go and drive up into a strip mall parking lot. My local Blockbuster's all glass storefront reflects the DRLs nicely. You can then also see the effects of your silverstar/amber/yellow bulb mods, etc. :)

or you can just throw the truck in neutral and get out and look.
