I was wondering if any body knows of an H2 that someone has swapped a 8.1L vortec into with or without the allison tranny??

And has anyone heard of putting the selectable transfer case from a standard 6.0 4x4 pickup like a 1500/2500 into an H2?

If so any pics or info would be great I am really interested in the 8.1 swap.

Not sure you would want to put a standard truck xfer case into the H2. It would be a step back. The transfer case in the H2 is specific to the truck. It is more heavy duty and has a lower crawl ratio.....

Thanks for the info. the reason I ask is my buddy owes me big time and he has a spare transfer. he also has a 8.1l with the allison trans and a uninstalled supercharger, wire harness all accesories. It was intended to be stuffed into his K5 but it never happened. He wants my k5 now so i might work a deal.

It may not be hear anymore but, yes there was a guy that took 2500 transfer, manual tranny 6 spd., and 1 other item well clutch ass. etc.

He had pics or links on here with truck in 2wd and a huge billow of smoke coming off tires.

Yes it has been done and I'm thinking about it later also.

I hope you can find it he explained how he took the clutch pedal and work it in as well I think adj. brake as well as a bunch of other stuff. If a big diesel can go in H2 I would think the 8.1 would go in. The difference is this other guy stayed with his 6.0 so all the 2500 parts matched well. He showed pics of a short throw 6 spd shifter that sat right where the old auto stick was and looked natural.

If you can not find it do a web search as it was the shop that did conversion I think he referenced links to them. Search may pop it up but, seems it was 3 years or so.

I do plan on it though once I decide to pull my H2's 6.0 and change crank, heads, etc. to make the engine stand up to over 20lbs. of boost and see how high I can get HP/trq.

I remember the post you are talking about that was a good one. the 2500 case will fit right in. id love to try it for Sh!ts and giggles. My only concern would be the wiring, and dissabling the TC etc...
