air tank mounting ideas anyone???

I have a 14" long and about 5" in diameter air tank that i need to mount probably as close to the front of the vehicle as possible. since that is where my compressor is going to be. any suggestions as to where I can put this beast.

I do not want to use smaller tanks that are available b/c they really dont hold alot of air. the compressor allready has a place in the engine compartment. i need ideas before wednesday!!!!!! una

I never measured it but there is some room between the front of hood and the radiator support, 5" i don't know.
I take it u don't have rear air?
If not how about a little bigger tank under the rear end where the factory compressor goes.
If u have a local truck parts store, there is a large selection of air tanks for HD trucks.
Another option is a truck junk yard and get one of the polished aluminum tanks like Peterbilt uses.
That would look sharp under the backend, balance out the polished skidplate up front http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif.
Also run the airline inside the frame like the rear mount winch does.

thanks for the ideas. I know that I could put it in the rear, just trying to avoid it, but if I am forced to, I will be getting a bigger tank. I will take a look at the front of the hood. I never thought of in there. that would be great, since the aircompressor will be a measly 3 feet away. I do not have the air suspension. on an interesting note, one of the reasons for the bigger tank, is I am using a lanyard operated dual airhorn... lanyards take more air, the smaller tanks would only get me a 2 second burst then a decent recovery time. will submit some pics when I have them. una

Great idea! You could build a wooden box around it, run an orange extension cord down the side and you're in business. Wait a second, isn't this what the disco guys do? Before you know it we'll have mattresses on top too!

yes I do have a gobi roof rack. I do plan on running the hose up one of the pillars. the horn itself will be mounted to the mesh on the rack, and the fron of the horns will rest right behind the lights on the left hand side. If these horns are too high pitched. I will be forced to get a longer set of horns, in that case, I will probably put one on each side. it is going on this thursday-sunday (the time I will be away in vegas.) will have some pics to post of the intsall. una
