LOL...so true

Hey, wait, I never noticed that before but was he aiming that shot at my truck

KenP 04-22-2006 03:51 AM

Interesting day.

3 broken tierods and two disabled H3's that had to be towed.

A 9 hour trail took us about 14.

I'll let others elaborate.

DRTYFN 04-22-2006 04:19 AM

Ahhh... so the 3bies let you guys down. No mo' Moab fo' dem.

KenP 04-22-2006 05:06 AM

Golden Stairs cost us one tierod, and both H3's.

deicustoms1 04-22-2006 05:10 AM

damn youse golden stairs! damn youse...why the h3s?! why!!

dochummer 04-22-2006 05:14 AM

Crap, that was a long freakin' day........

Everything went smooth all the way the through the golden crack. We got all the 2s and 3s thru with no drama at all.

Then most of the carnage started.

The complete carngage list:
-3 busted tie rods - on ONE vehicle!
-1 busted Ankle
-1 big quarter panel gash
-1 overheated vehicle
-2 totally busted H3s
-1 snapped air sensor

At one point we had Adam repairing a tie rod on the front of an H2 while we were winching H3s up a nastly obstacle from the back of it. As Adam was laying under the vehicle (while it was running to fuel the winch) he was sitting in 130 degree heat while the H2 was sliding backwards from trying to pull Neo's H3 up a ledge. It was total teamwork and chaos at the same time.

Talk about an amazing day.... Multiple recovery/winching/towing maneuvers, trails repairs, strapping newbs and vets, and doing that last 4 hours in the dark. Un-freakin-beleivable and unforgettable.

Bottom line. We got everyone home and all will be well. The unfortunate thing is we don't have many (if any) pictures since we were all working our butts off for the last 7 hours.

dochummer 04-22-2006 05:33 AM

Ouch...this isn't sounding too good....

CO Hummer 04-22-2006 05:36 AM

Oh, and the most amazing thing I saw today was Alec scale a 5 foot ledge near the end of Gold bar rim...........and he did WHILE towing Bebe's dead H3!

Here's the ledge in daylight. We were doing this around 10pm. Trying doing this while dragging a 4500 lb anchor:

That's OK. No need to post that stuff anyways.

Looks like the Hummer team pulled through together great.

Glad to see you guys are OK though.

I am still tired- and I didn't do much but ride and spectate. But...

I AM SO PROUD OF MY BOYS!!!!!!!

They all did so well and never gave up. They were calm, cautious, prepared and got it done. I rode with CO Hummer and he was the man the whole trail- led a lot of the way, no by-passes, no damage and he was very quick to help and never got frustrated.

AlecW was amazing as well, helping everybody and towing Bebe from the stairs. And Tah2oe offered to tow Neo when Adam's truck started getting hot from towing the H3- he moved past everyone on the trail and towed the 4,600 (or whatever) vehicle through like a champ. Watching Alec and Tah2oe tow those things was unbelievable and everyone else not towing was quick to spot and deal with straps and strategy. So cool to watch.

Adam was the tie-rod master!!!! 4 changes this week- 3 yesterday- all in the worst places imaginable, ledges and inclines, getting sandblasted from wind, all in the heat- and the last one was in record time too. He got down and greasy and helped everyone so much as well- all while missing his son's 2nd birthday yesterday.

Rox was calm- no evident screaming episodes() and was in there winching, strapping and spotting, and of course had everything needed in tow (including ibuprofen for hurt ankles).

Everybody was wonderful and it was truly an experience just to witness.
