I guess that could be worse, she went easy on us.

Wait.....is there some kinda ghey meaning I'm unaware of?

beavis 01-30-2006 04:13 PM

Just looked at my Delorme Atlas, and yep Barstow is just down the road from Afton Canyon exit. Plus Barstow intersects I40, which goes to Needles.

I can just park my beat up Explorer SUV on a side road or something, cant imagine wanting it.

Bondage 01-30-2006 04:14 PM

Hey RacerX and Beavis (what're you doing Racer, trying to get your name changed from Minute Man to Butthead? ) are you two planning on coming up/down Friday evening?

There is an odd little store at the Afton Cyn. exit off the 15. The owner and "emplyees" seem like a bunch of recovering alcoholics, bet they are really good guys! Typical desert folks. Seriously, there is a ton of parking there and never any customers. LOL If you pull in and talk to them, I'm sure they wouldn't mind if you left your car there and that is right about where we'll end the Road trip!

After meeting there, Racer would backtrack N on the 15 (don't you guys dare go down and pre-run Afton Canyon first! DON'T DO IT!! )to the Nipton Rd. exit. Turn right onto Nipton Rd. and go 31.4 miles to US95 south. Go south on 95 for 43.5 miles and merge onto I-40East/95S via the ramp on the LEFT. This will take you to Needles in about 8.5 miles.

Izzat clear as mud?

BTW - WELCOME Beavis. Batman had Robin, Cisco had Poncho, The Lone Ranger had Tonto, Marshall Dillon had Festus, and now RacerX has Beavis. You just KNOW that your CB handle will now be Beavis and Butthead, right?

Sean
PS - PLEASE tell me you two are camping? The thought of Beavis and Butthead at the Bun Boy is more than I can stand.....

If you take Nipton Road, you'll pick up 95 in Searchlight. The Vegas crew will be passing through there Saturday morning about 7:45 a.m.

If you want to lessen the Friday drive, you could stay in Searchlight and ride south with us on Saturday.

Almost 17 and 14, they would love your girls, "Professional Baby Sitters". No they "have plans" that weekend. LOL

Kills me

rodster 01-30-2006 07:38 PM

They may be young but they definitely are not tuned out ...

Last night my 7 year old informed me she knows what kind of car she's going to buy when she's 16 (and I quote): "an H3 with 4 inch lift".

So I showed her a pic of HummerLV's new ride. She got a big smile and even bigger eyes and asked if he was bringing it.

"Nope."

"Well Daddy, that sucks."

Adult themes seem to fly right past kids but the words have a way of sticking.

We discussed why "sucks" is not an acceptable word for a 7YO.

BTW - I know drinking would be a no no on the trail but there's no rules against a beer or two at the campfire right? Probably a stupid question but ya never know. I know we had to pull a permit and all.

What's that I hear? Kegger at the Bun Boy?

I can't imagine there are rules against the consumption of alcohol in the park. Man, has the government gotten THAT big?

Good grief, I'm not suggesting people drink and drive. That's obviously a bad idea.

I can't say with assurance what Phil meant by the "no alcohol on the trail" point but I'm fairly confident that refers to driving on the trail.

Ought to be lots of fun
