Mister Ed, Oldhiker, about how far out from stock are they? And do you have to use that mud flap? I am not a fan of them, but really like the flares.
|
Ken, these actually install over the stock flares. These are agout 3 1/2" out from the body. As far as removing the "mud flap", it is part of the flare. I think it looks pretty good.

I will wait until I see them in person before making a decision. Thanks for the extra pic.

Appreciate YOUR kind words!
Handles are in the works but haven't been able to find the caps yet. Any thoughts on that tail gate piece?? |

I got mine in two days from the dealer; they also installed them for me. I have an extra set but they have been cut out to accomodate the Road Armor front and rear bumpers. Here is a pic of them prior to the Road Armor being put on.

Very nice,
I'm convinced that I will go with those. But I'm not comfortable with install (drilling). |

Until I had the lift installed, I could not put the second half of the front flares on (The part that comes down form the hood and to the right at a bout a 45 degree angle in the picture I posted above) for the 15.50's would have rubbed. Once I had the lift installed I put the flares on myself (becauseI could not wait!) and it actually was incredibly easy. The flares come with all the hardware and a special bit and screws so that the cannot be tampered with. They go over the factory flares and are super easy to line up. Then you just drill a tiny pilot hole and put the screws in and you are done. Took me about 5 minutes for both front flares. From what I understand (from the dealership), the only difficult part is getting the mudflaps at the correct angle (yes, the kit comes with mudflaps) but my mudflaps are gone now because of my new Road Armor bumper (shown in this pic). Hope this helps. D.Wiggs |
