Well, I guess I'm just real easy on the throttle since my first jaunt from Maine to Massachusetts (145 miles) got me 20.2 mpg and after a couple of days of around town driving and some stop and go traffic jams heading back north my first 450 miles has turned up 18.5 mpg. I was averaging 12.8 with my H2 which is a little better than most so I'm probably conservative compared to most drivers. Got a feeling I could crank out 19-20 pretty consistently on the highway.

I just got the 33" tires on Thursday, and I filled up Friday. I will wait till this tank of gas is gone, then post some good figures. This tank will bring the mileage to roughly 1900 miles I imagine.
|
33" tires, 3200 miles, 14.3 mpg with 50 /50 city and highway driving on my last two tanks.
|
Isn't 14 a far cry from what we thought it would be? If I could average 14 with the H3, and 12 with the SUT I'd take the SUT every time.
|
I have to agree. I am disappointed in the mileage I am hearing so far. Hopefully they will start doing better with some more miles. I get 15 with a 5.0 V8.
|
Maybe I am hoping the mileage is low, so I can justify an H2...
|
Are you 100% sure that you will get 12 mpgs with the H2 SUT? You're supposed to get 9 mpgs in the city.
|
Most everyone I know gets between 11 and 12.

want to thank all you guys for your input on my post. keep it coming as you break in your rigs!!
still waitin for my slate blue lux with 33"s |
So Buyer, let's go shopping for a couple of H2s next week, I bet we could get a bulk discount.
We could fly in to Sewell or maybe Lynch and road trip it back. |
Mainer, what are they telling you for a chip date of the Blue?
Killian, don't tempt me... My wife is frantic, she thinks I am going to come home with an H2 this week (she is not too far off). Or should I say attempt to come home. The locks will be change, and my bedroom will not be her bedroom any more! LOL |

Enjoyed your review!

h3 buyer to be: he said he is expecting the 2(1slate 1 superior) this week those are his stock. i ordered mine a week and a half after that so my ship date isnt in yet. would have bought the stock one but no lux no 33"s and had the chrome and no brushguard the opposite of everything i wanted except the color.

Be happy...I only get 12mpg in my 1992 4Runner v6 3.0L engine w/31" tires.
With my scrawny gas tank, I am lucky if I get 200 miles or so in town, and 230 in highway driving before I REALLY have to start looking for fuel. Manufacturers always inflate the MPG, and do so under lab/test conditions, not real-world driving. The only reason the manual was offered, IMO, was so they could hit the Magic 20 MPG mark. Auto transmissions never get as much mileage per gallon as a stick. |
17 mpg on the first 1000 miles, all highway.

Cherokee with a 4.0L V6 Really where can I get one of those? The XJ nevevr had a 4.0 V6.

16.5 80% city with AC going 90% of the time.
|
2 tankfulls through mine.
1st 17.2mpg AC on 100% of the time, 70/30 Hgwy/City. 2nd 15.3mpg AC on 100% of the time, 50/50 Hgwy/City, towed 4000lb trailer for 55 miles. Plenty of power for towing. I was really suprised! ![]() |
