We do loads of glasswork. The first one requires tons of work; all the others are strait out the mold. So as i have said before - first one is free, but you have to leave your sut at my shop for a few days. All others are $2000 </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

If you can make one that is like the H2H, I'd pay the $2000 and freight to get it here to CO. HAve you seen these pics?

This is the outfit that makes the H1 slantback kits:

http://www.calgoldproducts.com/

Also, I've seen another H2SUT slantback besides this Hydrogen one. It was on a yellow H2 Sut that I saw in Durango last October. It makes me think that the photo of the slantback above is not a "one-off."

good to know there is more than one now. I called CGP about maing one for the SUT, and they said NO! Not enough market to bother.

Ok, I talked with TecStar today. Wheel to Wheel is there engineering division. The slantbacks that have been put on a couple of trucks and are both prototypes. They have to perfect those protypes before production.

However, I was told that their company is looking down the road to produce them. the nice lady that I talked to is checking into when and will be getting back to me. Tecstar puts packages together for different vehicles.
Sounds like that would be a great job to have!

I'll keep you all posted as word is passed along.

for those that are considering haveing one made from scratch may want to wait until I hear back how long it will be and how much they will cost.

4churchill 02-24-2005 06:12 PM

tim can you post the number? maybe if enough of us call and request it, they will either a) hurry up production or b)definately produce if they still had some reservations...thanks for all the work!

KenP 02-24-2005 06:59 PM

Tim, are you close enough to be a "Test Vehicle"? That would be great.

timgco 02-24-2005 07:35 PM

They are in Michigan. rather than everyone calling, we should do a poll as to how many are interested in one and would purchase if not too costly. I'm hoping to hear something back soon with an answer as to when they will have a finished product. If it is too far down the road than I think we could all call. The lady that i talked to was very nice and informative. she said she would get back to me, so If we all call, I think that may cause frustration more than anything.

Keep in mind this won't be a low cost item. I could see this product going for 2 to 5K easily.

I think we should wait a few days and see what she comes back with. If it's too far down the road or the project is to be put on hold, those of us willing to drop some money and time into this project can start a PM and develope one ourselves.

...thoughts?

yes to all questions. I can & will build some, I will be back on Mon. email me w/your phone # pleaman@comcast.net & I will contact you

Paul L 02-24-2005 10:36 PM

my shop does custom work 99.9% of the time, so building the 2nd one & on is a peice of cake.
Next week I'm contacting my dealer about a loaner for a couple of days to make a mold

KenP 02-25-2005 03:56 AM

Paul, what kind of wood will you make it out of? Koa or Bubinga?

It's the new style coming out. We've discussed the sidesteps somewhere on this board...

4churchill 02-25-2005 04:56 AM

heres the black ops edition

HUMMERDOGG 02-26-2005 04:01 AM

dochummer-

I missed the sidestep discussion. I actually like that look. Anywone know if the sidesteps disconnect from the rock rails? I would actually go with that if they did. Thanks for the pic. I'll do a forum search for that sidestep thread.

KenP 02-26-2005 04:20 AM

Dogg, they are built into the "Rock" rails to the best of knowledge. Nothing else has been posted about them being removable.
