I wont be able to get itno my parking deck at my office. I lead a dual life of being out on job sites and in the office, so I need to be able to get itno decks, etc. but also may have to fill up equipment the same day.

Alec, I'm working on something similar. I bought the fuel can holders and something called a shaker syphon hose from roveraccessories.com. I will mount the cans on the left as you said. With the shaker hoese you just put one end in the can and shake the other end that has a device that starts a syphon. pretty cool.
Alan, for you, do a search, there was a thread here that covered very low profile tanks, maybe a couple of inches high at most. Anybody remember that? I assume the shaker hose would work fine with that aswell. |
Heres the shaker. I guess I had it backwards (mine hasn't come yet) the metal shaker goes IN the fuel can.
http://www.autobarn.net/shakersiphon.html I tried a search on the low profile fuel storage but came up with nothing. I'm sure there was a thread here. I think they were grey and I beleive stackable. They would be pretty easy to mount over or under the stock roof bars I think. |

It's really easy to get fuel started from one of these nato cans. Just stick the hose down in about a foot or two or more length that the can is tall, put your thumb over the other end, pull out most of the hose and hold it below the top of the tank and let it start. If your hose is long enough, you'll have it in your fuel tank before it reaches the end.
![]() Just don't do it near any cryptobiotic soil. ![]() |
Thanks MH! That was driving me crazy.
Looking at them again, they won't work for Alan. Now way to siphon with that cap on the side. Maybe a hose could be fashioned with a shut off on it though. But then how would it vent? |
It seems like it would be fairly convenient to just pull the tie down straps off those things, unscrew the lid, pull out your funnel, pour, restrap, and be on your way.
|
What if I told you I was working on something that would hold one of the blitz cans, in a fashion that you could easily siphon the fuel from it and into the fuel tank of the truck or into another can or something. Plus it'll look cool.
I'm working on something. ![]() |
