You don't need to remove the skid plate. I just did mine this weekend and I have a much bigger skid plate that stock.

In fact, if your a bit flexible and have an 18" hose on your grease gun you can reach all 11 zerk valves to do the lube job WITHOUT removing the skid plate. However, you have to change that one impossible zerk to a right angle valve (which I did) and point it it straight up.

Re: Oil change?

Yay! Thanks for the info. I did a search for "H2 oil change" and only returned this thread.

Other questions, is it 6 or 7 quarts of oil? I was told 7 by the dealer a while ago. So I bought 2 cases of the Mobil 1 synthetic 5W-30 at Costco. Maybe I only needed one.

What is the tool needed to remove the oil filter? Is it something commonly found in a garage?

I guess the next two things due are the T-case fluid and the Transmission fluid. I'm close to 60K.

Oh my final question:

On the driver's side engine exhuast manifold, what is the part# for the bolts that hold the manifold onto the engine? I have been missing the rear most bolt for some time now. Do I need to replace the gasket as well? I'm assuming some type of loc-tite is need on the bolts too. Not sure if I'd use red or blue, or what type of torque the bolts need either.

Ok, I did the oil change. It was easy. Having someone there who knew what he was doing was very nice. I felt a little less uncomfortable.
