excellent posts, tomp!

thanks for the detailed info - I also considered Truxx kit for some time, but I guess I'll take a different approach now

Wow tomp, I was under the impression that cranking the bars increased tension on them, and that they were designed/manufactured to withstand that tension in a specific usable range so to speak.

Increased spring rate equates to increased stiffness right?

Which led me to believe that cranking the stock t bars would lead to use of aftermarket t bars since they would be beefier.

I also thought that a set of re-indexed torsion keys was supposed to drop that amount of tension back to the useable range of the stock torsion bar, in-turn eliminating the need to replace the stock t bars.

I was aware that the shock travel was lowered with the truxx bracket but knew enough to replace the shocks.

After reading this I think I might just put the stock torsion keys back in.

Thanks, it looks like I need to do some more math!

If you actually did the search, and read them, then you already know I'm a proponent of the leveling kit due to ride quality, which, I think you lose by cranking the T bars. I'm more of a proponent for a 4" lift and 37" tires though!

MHO.

Hey Big Dad, check out these pics from a member here, H3-4" Rancho lift-37" tires. Little rock, big CV break. I'm not trying to be a jerk, it's just the reason why my H3 isn't lifted yet.

Wow, that bums me out! We all liked the way the 4" w/37's looked on the 3. Small rock hmmm, I wouldn't want to deal with that either.

I haven't "wheeled" this one. Just run around mostly from our house here in Seattle and my house in (Alaska) the mountains to Anchorage. Little bit of off-road and snow. I really like the way it handles in the snow.

Thanks for the info, I have questioned/wondered about the 3's (I5) drivetrain handling 37's.

Having the aftermarket keys surely does not hurt anything, it's just that they are not needed on the H3. All they do is allow you to crank the TBs even more than the stock keys isnce they are re-indexed.
