I get mine in the garage with a GOBI Stealth Rack on it. I squeeze it in there with my Saab, and the garage is FULL! My CB antenna rubs, but it's flexible. I have to fold in the mirrors, of course. I did have a couple of garage door issues (ripped the door down twice, see photo) that were resolved by raising the door above the header.

I had adjust the up limit stop on the door to raise it above the header. Also, back in, it is much easier to do it that way cause you can see exactlyt what's fitting and what's not. If you pull in forward you are just guessing where the fenders are. Also, had to fold the mirrors. have about 1" on each side of the mirrors folded.
Before I bought, I asked hummer.com for the width with the mirrors folded-what they gave me was just the body width...thought i'd have 3" in either side, only got 1". bummer, but still fits. |
It's a tight squeeze but I have both the H2 and the F150 4X4 in the garage along with a pen for our 2 dogs and all the other toys.

My rig has not spent one night outside except for the 6 weeks she was Indiana. She is often covered. Kind of funny, I have no problem getting her muddy, but darn when she is clean I want her to stay that way as long as possible. Black H2s are a pain to wash and keep clean.
Also, I agree 100% about backing into the garage. Some folks need to know if the door is up or down ![]() Black Lingenfelter Lux |

Lets see that data Zazing. I think the SUT will fit, but the top corners of the opening have 45 degree angles. So I'm probably OK on height and width, but am wondering about those angles.

Never mind the spec dimensions of 77.8" high w/o cross bars and 82" high with. Not accurate. Mine measured exactly 79 1/8" at it's highest point w/o the cross bars which got me in trouble in some parts of my garage (big complex with sprinkler pipes and signs). The highest point of the H2 is in the center in the rear and is about 1/4" above the corner perimeter lights. I don't have the air suspension in case you're wondering . With the cross bars I think it's sligtly over 82" on the rear crossbar. As far as width it's about 82" which you can make in most garages. With respect to driving I was never conscious of the high of anything until now. |

This is how I know the exact height of 79 1/8". I took a straight and placed a level on top. Made sure the ground was level. I wonder why GM is not more precise on things like this.

Thanks guys. I'll have to take some measurements tonite, including those 45s, and see where I'm at.
Also, the back of the roof on an SUT is just behind the back door. Wonder how much lower it is there than the back edge of the SUV? - Dan ------------------------------------------------- SUT on order 12/02. 10 months down, 8 to go! ------------------------------------------------- |
I have read in previous posts that the H2's can actually vary a little bit in heighth. That may explain that 79 measurement.

Mine is always garaged. It barely fits in (height) with the roof bars. I have about a 1/2 inch to spare.

Ok, I finally got my butt out there and measured my garage door opening.
It looks like this: .......________________86"_______________ ....../ ..../ ../ | | | 84½" High | | | | | | ---------------------106½"-------------------- So at the H2 height of 80", I have an even 8' (96") of width. And if the roof racks make it about 83", I still have 89" wide. I'm all set! Thanks for the measurements guys. - Dan ------------------------------------------------- SUT on order 12/02. 10 months down, 8 to go! ------------------------------------------------- |
Mine fit in a standard 8" x 7" gargage door until I put the Gobi rack on.. So I just rebuilt my barn due to a fire.. Had 2 8x9 on front and a 10 x 9 door on the rear.. fits fine thru both.. Glad I built barn.. now I can add more lights.

I don't even own an H2 yet. I have a deposit down for the SUT. I just had a new garage built for my soon-to-be-ordered SUT. I had it built especially tall (10'), wide (16') and deep (23'). I had a drain put in so that I can wash my SUT inside in the winter. I also included a small loft above so my SUT won't be lonely at night. Right now I'm using the garage as a shrine where I pray for more information on the SUT.
