If you have a dual washer system (front and back) then you need the bypass kit. The kit pulls washer fluid directly from the washer fluid tank and into the HotShot. My guess is there is not enough suction with a dual washer system to pull the water.

No what is the Auto mode supposed to do???

push and hold the button for 3 seconds. then release. It will then warm the water and shoot it at the windshield every 30 seconds. If it tries, and fails...the button will flash repeatedly...means you're not getting enough fluid through the system...
