Now, I know that I may get mobbed by other Texans for this, but "Come on and get it!" We have no state income tax, the weather is just as nice as California, and (With the exception of our goofy state reps and senators) a government that is business friendly.
There's lots of room in Texas, and I'm sure that we can fit ya in. Also, this is a Hummer friendly state, as you can tell by the number of Hummer dealers.

Hey Drag Racer.. I'm not too familiar with Texas. Where's the best beach area to live? New homes Master planned communities etc. I'm a web developer and can pretty much move anywhere. California is getting a little rediculous.

I'd have to say either the Austin/San Antonio area, or North Dallas and Arlington in the D/FW area. Houston isn't my favorite, but they have good sports teams and some great communities in the suburbs. I just love the Austin/San Antonio area, good weather, sorority girls........ahem I mean, good developments, master planned communities, college chicks........

As far as beaches, there's a lot of good lakefront property in Texas, and Corpus Christi is developing. I'd have to say somewhere lik Galveston, but they get a lot of hurricanes. From there, South Padre is great in spring and summer, but dries up in fall and winter. In south Texas, like Padre, it doesn't get much below 50 in the winter, at least till night time.
