So do you own a Hummer? If you do and it's an H2, is your above quote a reflection what you thought when you go yours? Oh goody, there is now a lower cost one and now I can tell everyone I know that I have a HUMMER! If you don't like the H3 because you feel it will take away some of the bragging rights of owning a "real" Hummer, then you don't deserve a Hummer of any kind in the first place. If you just don't like it for reasons of personal taste such as size or over look, that is your opinion and you are completely entitled to it. I have absolutely no problem with that. Personally, I like the H3 and have one on order. I will have to reserve my full opinion of it until I actually get to see one in person but I like it for the looks and its capabilities, not it's name tag or prestige. If I was getting one just for bragging rights, then I would just get a used H2 for the same money and become just another one of the asses on here posting criticism about how the H3 waters down the Hummer line. Who really cares if the guy in the lane next to you thinks your cool because you have a Hummer or your a POS because you drive a 15 year old Ford. If you drive what you do because it's what you want, that is all that matters. The Hummer line is built to put through its paces, not to for keeping up with Jones family down the street.

The concepts are exactly the same. I hate to keep beating a dead horse, but H2 is to Tahoe as H3 is to Colorado. General Motors contructs Hummers by starting with a currently implemented truck frame (not speaking of the H1 of course), which they modify and upgrade to accomodate larger tires and different body styles. If an H3 is based on the Colorado's platform, given suspension upgrades to run larger tires, and fitted with a body that will lessen front and rear overhangs, than it will be a competent machine, capable and fun! And it will be easily purchased by those who have tighter incomes but desire to own a Hummer.

I applaud GM for doing this. If there is going to be a Hummer lineup produce for the general public, it should be for ALL of us! Then we can choose which Hummer suits are needs and wallets. It's this kind of thinking that make this country what it is, isn't it?

Thanks for listening to a newcomers ramblings.

(In Sam Kinison post rant voice) I like the way you think. I've got my eye on you.

The h3 is just a Chevy Colorado, same frame same lame engine.. Its also dirt cheap and takes away whats left of the hummer exclusivty. Why all the hype? Your thoughts?
.
Maybe how the H1 owners felt when the h2 arrived.. But at least the H2 has a place.. I mean the H1 is a turd to drive on the street. What purpose does the H3 serve other then to put a hummer in the hands of soccormom..

I'm still shaking my head at this asinine thread.
H2GheyPerson, why, as a newbie, would you try to start such a PITA thread? Bored over on that rock? From now on all you may post is pictures of hot, tanned bikini-clad women. So sayeth ME!!

No I did not get into the Drivers Seat. Was stating that from seeing the back seats.. They did not look like a "wookie" (now I sure hope I don't look like one ) would fit.. I would just have to be behind the wheel! I'll stick with My H2.. And I was stating my opinion based on the fact that there are some out there who have "slammed" us for buying the H2 because it is a "waste" of money but will turn right around and Jump at the chance to have their own in the H3... WHY we got it: That is my husbands area.. All I know is I look Good Driving it...

Sounds familiar.

I think HUMMER/GM has done a great job on this H3. I'd love to get one for our garage. I also can't wait to see them on the trail with someone really beating on it. TIMGCO?

DRTYF? (the imposter) 05-26-2005 03:18 AM

hehe this thread got funny. Lets just say I have asked many people about what they think of the H3. This is the only place where anyone had anything nice to say.. Weird stuff.

DRTYFN 05-26-2005 03:46 AM

Don't you have some suntan oil to rub on your anus? Why are you so hell-bent on dissing(I get some street creds for using ebonics. I wanna get a shout out to my peeps.) the H3?

HummerChic,

Glad to see you are your husband use your H2 properly Sorry you got grief when you got your H2 but don't take it out on the H3. There are very simple minded/jealous people out there and don't let what they say bother you. I understand you don't like the H3 and all is good with that. It is certainly your right. Lets leave it at, I would never knock you for getting an H2 for the right reasons, so please don't knock me for getting an H3 for the right reasons. We are both just good Hummer fans

Give me a F'ing break. Go back to high school with that crap. You are so weak that you now can't even back up this BS thread with your own opinion. You make up crap that you "asked many people." Sport, give us a break.

Maybe I shouldn't point out how dumb this sounds. But..... You based your opinion out of spite for what others have said and done? Not for something tangible that really matters. The vehicle is what it is, regardless of what people have said about affording it or not affording it, "slamming" it or whatever. It just seems very shallow-minded to bash a vehicle and it's owners for something that has absolutely nothing to do with it or them.

While I am speaking the truth this was all in good fun, I am amazed at how seriously and offended some people are by a mere opinion. Lighten up people.

I suspect the investigation is currently underway... In other words, it will be a TKO.

If you can't see what the previous was, it's a stock 1 wek old Colorado on Lion's Back...here he is coming down the front stretch.

HummerChic 05-26-2005 05:29 PM

How steep is that on the way up?
Impressive!!!

Buckeye Hummer 05-26-2005 05:54 PM

I stood in front of that and said.........hmmmmmm....I have a son, I don't think so. I was most concerned about mechanical failure (had the vid of the old K5 blazer going thru my head).

HummerNewbie 05-26-2005 06:45 PM

I am kind of a trill seaker myself, but don't think I would do it either. Just like Buckeye, every time I look at it, I see that K5 blazer.

89vette 05-26-2005 06:55 PM

Holy ****E! Even if I did not see the blazer video I would not do it!

The H3 looks capable but I'm sure most of us will look down on H3 guys just as H1 owners look down on the H2 guys. It is just a guy thing. Maybe I feel that way because my wife wants to buy one.

HummerNewbie 05-26-2005 07:01 PM

Overall, the reaction of the H1 and H2 owners here has been pretty good. I think the H3 will be a very welcome member of the Hummer family. At least around here. Maybe not out on the street where so many Hummer owners have them just so they can show up their friends.

HUMMER H3 4 ME 05-26-2005 08:47 PM

The H3 is just as much a HUMMER as the H2. Just smaller, and affordable, plus it gives me hope when I turn 16 this will be parked in my garage.

Another 5 year old.. These posters are very sad indeed.

When I first stumbled apon this site I actually hesitated to join because I noticed that anyone who differed seems to get ragged on. I saw alot of the same people giving crap to people just because they didnt agree. But I figured I'd try to see how it'd be.. Guess I was right. I guess you just have to ignore some of these morons around here it seems.

Oh yes, this H3 will be used what is was intended for. MOAB! But I have to say, the pilot of this new truck is not me, but is my sig. other. And after her driving mine in Moab last time in a couple of places.... It will be used what is was intended for. One may ask what that is: so:

"It will be used in a way that will make the stuck up H-1/2 owners put their feet in their mouths for dissing the H3." ... off road anyhow.

For those that think this is a cheap ploy by HUMMER to make a cheaper HUMMER that discredits the HUMMER name, you need to consider that not everyone is financially secure as others. This allows them to not only own a vehicle with GREAT capabilites and a HUMMER badge, but also helps the HUMMER brand for future development.

I for one could not have bought a new H1 18 months ago. I don't have that kind of money, nor did I want a vehicle like that as a daily driver. I love the H1 FWIW! But was able to afford a used 03 H2 at the time. I think it's great that HUMMER has made another contribution to the people that cannot or want to afford a high end vehicle. Hell, I cannot wait to get this H3. I know it will be better for parking in the city, have better mpg, and fit on the Jeep trails here in CO: more so than my SUT.
For those that think they are better for owning an H1/2 over an H3 owner...K.M.A!! I welcome H3 owners and respect them as much as the next guy/ girl.. no matter what they are driving! rite Shaggy?

DRTYFN 05-27-2005 03:55 AM

From the very beginning I've said we should & will welcome the H3 owners with open arms(don't touch my beer though). I've also always said that the H3 will be a great off-roader and I'm excited to see it on the trails.

I do not agree with this at all. You got ragged on because of your attitude toward the H3. You don't like the H3? Fine, your opinion and you are entitled to it. The reason people came down on you about it is not the fact you don't like it, but what you said about it. If you have just simply said that it's not for you or you don't really like it and just left it at that, everything would have been fine. But you have to start a thread that's titled "Lets start some trouble...." Well you got your trouble, now deal with it.

h2co-pilot 05-27-2005 12:51 PM

The H3 does share a platform with the Colorado but the Malibu, Saab 9-3, G-6, and Aura share platforms also and you have to give GM thier props on that one.

Furthermore, if the H3 was as similar to the H2 then the exclusivity factor of the H2 would be diminished which is crucial to H2 owners and the appeal.

I just can't wait till it gets it's off-road credibility- high ground clearance, tire size and smaller size will allow Hummer to go where they haven't before. I am confident the snooty 'tudes will dwindle. The problem is H2guyperson is that you failed to recognize that at the top of this forum it clearly states - "For the Hummer Enthusiast" so opinions are fine regarding the smaller issues with in but an all out dislike and bash will start trouble.
