I dunno .... living in a place that translates from the Spanish to English, "Fat Point", doesn't sit well with me.

Boca Raton on the west coast of Florida is nice ... but translates to "Rat's Mouth". Couldn't do it. Fat point sounds worse, though, I think. Unless (:giggling:) someone HAS a fat point and doesn't mind advertising it. :shhh:

LOL .. yes, you're absolutely right, RYD. I know it's on the east coast of FL, but think I'm on the west coast of the U.S. .. I think in terms of WEST, always. LOL. Glad you're (still) on the ball. LOL.

Re: West Coast FL help

If you are thinking the Sarasota area let me know, my mom has a place there and spends a month or two a year down here. I can get you plenty of info, just let me know what you want to know.

In the Sarasota area I would recommend looking at Bird Key right on the inter coastal. I would also look at Longboat Key. Used to have a place there and it is very nice but is also very pricey. CP would love St. Armands circle for shopping. If you live on Longboat you can also join the beach club, nice private beach area with facilities. Have to live on Longboat but we are grandfathered in:clapping:

Also as mentioned before, take a look at Marco Island. My uncle moved down there a few years ago and loves it. I can get info on there as well if interested.

Keep in mind that the west coast of FL has much better beaches than the east coast until you get down near Miami.

Hey, just get comfortable with it. You're going there to die, like everyone else. You'll fit in. You'll love playing Bridge. And you'll definitely get used to the smell of Bengay.

Plus... we have mountains, too.

And on a clear day, you can go parasailing on Bay Lake and see both coasts! No stupid mega mountains everywhere to block the views.

Clearly, an ascent on the North face would be a nice route. I mean, with the handrails and all...

You people must not have been to Destin.....everything is new and nice, caters to an appealing demographic, stunning beaches(often voted top beaches in US), beautiful bay and a very friendly city on top of that.

You can do the beach(sugar white beaches, emerald green see through water):

Or you can do the bay(notice the nasty weather in the back--we say Destin has a dome around it, "the Destin Dome", and youll get nasty weather all around you but some how you stay dry):

And for those who like sport fishing, Destin is the home of the worlds largest private fishing fleet(or is it just in the US?). Anyway, you cant mention Florida and not mention Destin.
