I like the tonneau cover in pic 7. Do you think that'll be an option or an accessory?
Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!! |
Its supposed to be an option:
"Rubber bed mats help keep the cargo area clean, while a locking hard tonneau cover provides cargo security. Both accessories may be ordered individually, as may bed rail cover inserts and a removable, locking cargo box. ------------------------------------------------- SUT on order 12/02. 11 months down, 7 to go! ------------------------------------------------- |

What is the point of the fold down mid-gate if you can't get a 4X8 sheet of plywood between the fender (47.3") wells? OOPS! The general just missed (.7") That’s what I don’t like about my H2. I was considering the SUT until I saw the specs.
|
Yeah, I noticed that too. Although on the GM Media site, they mention being able to carry 4x8 sheets of plywood. Probably have to tilt them or some other half-ass setup. That's why I'm keeping my utility trailer.

Was looking at some of the pics, trying to determine what happens to the spare when the tailgate is down.
Looks like the tire and carrier are removable. The mount/hinge can be seen left behind in this pic. The carrier probably has a pin that slides into that mount. Not something I'd want to be hoisting on & off. I plan to take the thing off and leave it in the garage anyway. - Dan ------------------------------------------------- SUT on order 12/02. 11 months down, 7 to go! ------------------------------------------------- |
Dan,
Pardon my ignorance ![]() Erick |
Thats an external resevior for the shock fluid. This enables the shock to hold more fluid, keep the fluid cooler, etc.

I like the interior picture above.
Take a good look at several items: 1) Appears to be same OnStar setup as seen on the current Hummer.com web site - the OnStar has what appears to be a keypad for cellular service? 2) There is a red button next to the steering column - could this be the fabled "Start" button that was seen on the concept but then dropped in production... 3) Interesting guage setup -first time I've seen a picture of that. There must be tens of setups for the interior of the H2 from concept, to pre-production, to production, to specialty show setups... I love the SUT - nice |
That is definitely a pic from the concept with the keypad & red "Start" button. Not sure where that was passed off as being recent SUT stuff.
One giveaway is the steering wheel center. The newer H2s have the H2 logo. - Dan ------------------------------------------------- SUT on order 12/02. 12 months down, 6 to go! ------------------------------------------------- |

Dan,
Here are a few more pictures that I don't think you have in your collection...enjoy. Add me to the list of those waiting for the H2 SUT. After seeing the real thing (and not the concept) I am sold. Hope I can get my hands on a 2005 and like you I hope the price isn't over the top. I'll post anything else I find on the SUT for you... |

Dan,
Any idea on whether they are going with the wheels shown in the pictures of the white SUT or the traditional wheels found on the current SUV and as pictured on Hummer.com? I prefer the original wheels...what do you think? |
I gotta say, im not a huge fan personaly, but that black interior....wow. I wish that had been avialable for mine.

I do like them, even though they are 20's. The original one's are nice too. I'd take either at this point! ![]() - Dan ------------------------------------------------- SUT on order 12/02. 12 months down, 6 to go! ------------------------------------------------- |
One other thing I kind of overlooked is that none of the specs mention the coil springs in the back. Only the Air Suspension is listed.
I bet its standard! ![]() - Dan ------------------------------------------------- SUT on order 12/02. 12 months down, 6 to go! ------------------------------------------------- |
Great collection of pics - thanks for posting.
I like the fuel door. Looks more like a satin finish vs. chrome. Hope they make that design available soon for our SUVs. Also looks like the plastic trim and fender flares have been painted vs. the textured non-painted look. dvj |
Dan,
Yup - Air Suspension is standard. See the other SUT posts. Unfortunately, this means the MSRP is going up, up, up |
Bunch more:

Dan,
Thanks! I was looking for a SUT fix for awhile now with no new pictures or news out there. Don't know if you noticed, but all of the pictures of the all black interior that have been posted on the Net are fake. I took a closer look in Photoshop and they are all mock-ups where someone went in and colored the dash black. If you look closely you can see that the color is too consistent - a classic Photoshop blunder and easily uncovered... I've read that the dash and door trim (and other interior pieces) will actually include black leather which I can't wait to see. I'm also excited to hear about the Touch-Screen DVD Nav system that is rumored to have the ability to play CDs at the same time the Nav is being used (CD changer!!). Thanks for the additional pictures! Just a few more months to go!! |
Another thing - I hear that the pricing for the SUT is going to be released in March!
Start saving... |
Yeah, I heard the same thing - pricing in March.
What do you think of the Stealth Grey? I like it but it may be a little too light blue for my tastes. I think I may go with the pewter. My dealer mentioned that he will order me 2 SUTs. One in the Grey and one in Pewter. This way I'll be able to pick which one I like better in person. Oh, and I started saving 14 months ago! ![]() - Dan ------------------------------------------------- SUT on order 12/02. 14 months down, 4 to go! ------------------------------------------------- S&B Member Since 2003 |

I got the interior photos right off the GM Media website:
![]() Think they're photoshopping? Here is a closer look: |

I wanted to see what the back would look like without the spare so I spent a little time & photochopped it out. I like it, but I would prefer the stamped tailgate like the concept had.

Oops! Forgot to put a handle to open the tailgate...
S&B Member Since 2003 |
Dan,
I agree - it only looks good with the HUMMER stamped in the tailgate. I like it better with the spare (a good bumper too if you're like me and back up into trees every now and again). I am very much looking forward to seeing the pricing soon and I can't wait to see a real one in the dealership - especially the interior.... I am with you Dan...102 days to go...save your pennies... By the way - did you ever see the short video clip they played on TechTV with the SUT - first time I ever saw the thing in motion. You know all of the pictures we've posted of the SUT doing the mogules - it is that same setup but on video - only a 30 second clip but with TiVo you can watch again and again - I have to tell you the rig looks very impressive in motion and on the open road looks damn sexy... PS - nice job with photoshop. |
17,
No, I didn't see that TechTV episode. I'll have to start watching for it! Sounds like they portrayed it nicely. I like it with or without the spare. The only thing I noticed is the gap between the spare and the tailgate is kind of big. I'd like it in closer. But I'm nitpicking ![]() No other news on pricing or anything. Supposed to be out next month sometime. Can't wait to see the pricing & options lists. After seeing more pics of the Stealth Grey I think I'm going with Pewter. The grey has too much blue tint in the sunlight for me. Pewter is always nice. The wait will be worth it I'm sure! S&B Member Since 2003 |
In case you are looking for it, it was on TechLive - originally aired on Dec 11, 2003.
|
Dan,
You'll love this if you haven't seen it before. Not the newer TechLive video (which shows the Stealth Gray model), but the older version concept SUT - Still great for a SUT fix for the weekend... Check this link, then click the streaming video for the SUT: http://www7.edmunds.com/news/autosho.../page020.html# |
