At the entrance to another Buddhist temple - Temple of the Fighting Monks - I think they were taking the day off when we went - nobody threatened to kick my ass.

OK - That'll do for todays lunch break.
To answer a couple of questions I am the Safety Manager on this project for Chevron. I will be here until the end of October when we will move the whole show to Angola in West Africa - where we will be for up to a year doing the hook up and commissioning. Photos all taken with a Nikon D200. And whey hey - Iphone in Korea - about f@!#$%g time. |

What are the odds that those pictures would ever end up being displayed in the weekly or monthly safety meetings!

Some extreme engineering - this is the largest crane to ever be installed on an offshore production platform - capable of lifting 200 tons - its a beast. The scale is hard to judge but look at the base of the yellow post that the crane is going to be set down on and you will just make out the crew that is working there to land the load.

"There is a spiritualistic waterfall just up that path" claimed the monk that cheerfully sent us up this flight of stairs. Two hours and what felt like 15,000 feet vertically later we were sweating pure Soju, dehydrated to the point of collapse and starting to figure out which one of the weakest we were going to eat first - we admitted defeat and turned back - those Buddhist monks are not to be trusted.

But they are pretty good at fiddly carpentry.

Re: My new playground
Perhaps the spiritualistic waterfall referred to the sweat you would expend traveling the path :giggling:
