Dealerships seem to be very hit and miss. Some are great and others are, just what you said, arrogant. I think some of that is a function of the fact that Hummer dealerships have such a large franchise territory, therefore very little competition. Many dealers know that most casual customers aren’t going to travel 200 miles to get a better deal, so they stick it to you. If you’re after a Ford, you know that there is always another showroom in the next town over - not so with Hummers.

I wish Hummer would crack down on some of the scumbag franchises out there (Medved - Denver, CO) and reward the great ones (White’s Mountain - Casper, WY). I’m always afraid that the bad apples will give Hummer a black eye in the minds of the more casual customers (which Hummer needs to reach, if they are to keep the line healthy).

I have been a customer of Medved's in Colorado for quite some time and cannot agree with this post. I have been treated with respect and in a professional manner every time I have been there. I love my hummer and would not buy anywhere else. I also think that the service department is great and they have never let me down. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>This is her ONLY post. Interesting, huh? </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

Before I chose the dealer I wanted to deal with....I'd been to several dealerships in the metro Detroit area. I got poor service from every dealership I went to. Poor customer service, salesmen swearing on the salesfloor, ridiculous offers for my trade in and the list goes on. I did find one dealership that I really liked. That was Ed Schmidt Hummer in Maumee OH. Their entire staff is amazing. Everyone is so helpful and friendly that it's unreal. Even though this particular dealership offered me less for my trade in than some of the others.....I feel that their customer service more than makes up for the difference. So needless to say that's who's getting my business....thanks Ben

Lund in Phoenix is demanding $2000 for window tint/vin etching/wax job. Even or cars not yet in stock. Royal in Tucson is ok: web site not updated, internet manager could not be located, I wasn't informed about tube rails and tire cover added to truck after arrival, finance rep tried to sneak $3000 warranty in loan docs. First new car we bought in 10 years where dealer didn't throw in a freebie like rubber floor mats. Salesperson was nice though. Service manager wanted $1100 to replace the bridgestones with BFG KO's same size. We did get a free tank of gas though.

I am looking to purchase an H3 soon... I also live in CT. I went to Crowley in Hartford today to look at the vehicles and they had a "northeast adjustment" fee of $3500 tacked onto the prices. As soon as I saw that I just left - if they are going to gouge customers they are jackasses.

If you find a good dealer please let me know. I hope I don' thave trouble trading my car in (2003 honda civic si). I have a feeling that a hummer dealer might not want something like that... sad... why does it have to be so hard to buy a car???

I think you'll be fine trading in your civic. I'm trading my Element and I've not had a single Hummer dealership tell me that they won't take it. The dealerships haven't always offered me a fair trade in value for it but at least they'll take it.

:< I think reasonably fair would almost be a necessity for me... i would have more leeway w/a GMID cert. Hope somebody can come through for me on that!!

Run! don't walk out of dealers trying to pull these stunts!

Why does everyone think a "free" tank of gas is a good deal after a dealer charges you full MSRP or above? Believe me, You paid for that tank many times over

I dont know what happened to FLYINGBADGER, but I had just the opposite experieince at Bergstrom in Milwaukee. yeah, the sales staff seemed rushed and understaffed, but I got a good deal, and the service department there is awesome! I went out of town for a week, They arranged it, so that while I was gone, they came to my house, picked up my truck, serviced it, detailed it, and it was back in my driveway when I returned. Now THAT'S worry free service!
Kudos to Bergstrom of Milwaukee
