Unorigenal and bad radio procedures as well, disapointing.

What's next, I know you are but what am I?

I wonder if "walc" has made any friends in the MSBA that would be curious in his opinions on things here.

Wow, first time I've looked at this thread. I'll step in for a couple of comments.
Walc: I have so much pride in having served as a Marine that I rarely miss the opportunity to come to the aide of a fellow Marine. I can’t here. I have a war record, but the details are really none of your business - even if I disagree with your views. I know, and know of, many who served in other services and many who never served in the military at all whom have displayed courage and conscientiousness as great as any person can show. Being in the service doesn’t make us better. Just sometimes more fully tested. My service definitely made me wiser. But only wiser than I had been before; not necessarily wiser than others. It still moves me when someone appreciates my service, but I've never bragged about it or belittled anyone who didn't serve. I hope I never do. Your record may be somehow more distinguished than mine, but, among those exposed to your comments, you have squandered the tremendous amount of respect you might have otherwise garnered. Even an accomplished hero who acts like a condescending bully and braggart really doesn't seem much like a hero. The people in here pushing back at you aren't the ones who are marginalizing your past - you are the one doing that. Maybe you don’t agree, but by my observations, most Marines generally are proud, but also somewhat humble.

I assume the lawyer jokes are just that, but I would say: There are about 800,000 lawyers in the USA. Just like auto mechanics, doctors, small businessmen, engineers, etc ..., there are a lot of bad ones, a lot of decent ones, and a lot of great ones. And I mean that both in terms of competence and ethics. They span the spectrum.

tanklizard 02-22-2006 12:06 PM

And once again you’re trying to misdirect blame away from yourself. Both of your “apologies” lack substance because you either tacked on a disclaimer or apologized for something else. No one cares that you said “Marines have more discipline.” If that was all you said I wouldn’t have batted an eye. On the other hand “Remember My Lai” and “Thanks for sharing LT Calley” aren’t funny, never were funny, and never will be funny. It’s not a joke it’s an insult, even “when joking privately with other Marines.” When I pointed this out in a professional manner you responded in a manner more fitting a 12 year old in high school.

Through out this thread you’ve done your best to deflect attention away from the point we’ve all been making.
It isn’t about Army vs. Marines.
It isn’t about accomplishments or service records.
And it definitely isn’t about Congresswoman Duckworth (trying to hide behind her was a new low.)

It’s about you acting like an *******.

This is the first time I’ve had the displeasure of running into you. But from the other poster’s responses this isn’t the first or even second time you’ve acted like this. And so the unwritten rule gets enforced again:

If you act like an ******* you’ll get treated like one.

The time for apologies passed long ago. You weren’t posting in anger or trying to be funny. You were belittling other people to stroke your ego. As I’ve said before, you contribute nothing to this forum other than being the latest troll to get stomped. Again I’d like you to invite you to take you and your attitude problem and leave.

JamesT 02-22-2006 12:16 PM

Well said...especially the part where you said "It’s about you acting like an *******." WALC...it's dirt nap time.

MH,

I always thought that I could have no more respect for our servicemen than I already do, but your comments just elevated that respect to a whole new level.

Sincerest thanks,

Pete
