Mike97ZJ - I won't speak for Patrick, but if you're interested in going into mechanical engineering at an even smaller scale, check out the world of microsystems. Just type in microsystems or MEMS on your search engine and explore the world to come. Designing mechanical systems that have already improved the driving safety of our vehicles (airbags, skid control) and are being developed to improve our health (in-body diagnostic and surgical tools). This isn't really hands-on (other than at the design station) due to the small size of these systems, less than the diameter of a human hair and some on the order of the size of a red blood cell. Its cool stuff though and certainly high impact technology. In any case, the world can always use another motivated engineer.

JJ- Thanks for the info. I'll check it out. Sounds pretty interesting.

TX H2 01-24-2003 08:57 PM

I am a retired police officer and my wife is retired from law enforcement. We are private investigators now and investigate auto accidents for insurance companies. This is our first H2 and we are enjoying it very much. Purchased it Oct 1, 2002 and it has 13,000 miles on it now. We also enjoy off-roading with our new Jeep Rubicon and are officers in Jeeps Of North Texas (www.jeepn.org) the largest Jeep Club in Texas..... Here is another question... Has anyone attended a "Hummer Happening" yet.

2003 Hummer H2, Pewter, Lux Series, Off-road package, Cobra CB 75 WX ST Radio, Kenwood 733 Ham Radio, R/S Scanner, Garmin GPS 3.

Did you get my reply? I sent it via my Blackberry and do not know if it worked. Let me know so that I can rely via pc if not.

The main message was thanks for the welcome and an offer to assist with NYC H2 gathering.

HEY TX H2

I am a Deputy Sheriff and also a traffic crash reconstructionist. I've always wondered the H2 would be crash tested. It would be very interesting to see the results. I doubt if it will because it is classified as a medium duty truck.

Srfcastr-

haven't received anything yet, but you can also try contecting me thru a private topic by clicking on "My Space." I check that pretty frequently. If not, I'll start a private topic w/ you (all you have to do is click on the aforementioned My Space folder tab). I didn't realize the Private topic thingy existed for a long time! Problem with a winter get-together is, we're away most weekends, but we'll figure something out! Talk to you soon.

Not any more. I've been here for 12 years. However, it is not much fun going out to eat.

On the plus side, it can be fun to wear my CDC badge. What would you do if you saw someone wearing a CDC badge inspecting the salad bar?

This has been some thread and I will try to some it up here. It is 6 pages long and may be one of our longest running posts. I thought it would be interesting to see the occupations of Hummer Owners here and there was a common thread with all the owners.

For the exception of the Hummer Owner that apparently gets his money begging for it using a sign on an off ramp, it appears all the Hummer Owners are successful and most probably work hard for their toys. Sorry this is so long, but maybe you find it interesting.

HeeHaw, you should take BlackH2Lux up on the Deschutes, nice river! I'm no purist, cause I like to catch the BIG Ones, but I have tied a few flies. And even use them once in a while. And if the flies arn't working, tie on a worm!
This has been an interesting thread, and will probably remain at the top for a while. Good Job!
