Oops, I never did this thread, did I? What an interesting group of people -mostly professionals, but diversity seems well represented.

Let's see, what do I do? What've you got? I own a natural foods store [like a grocery store, but with less chemicals] and dabble in what ever else interests me [perhaps it's a short attention span]. I'm a sometime writer, photographer, sailor, biker, traveler.

I run a Commercial Satellite TV Comp.We install DirecTv systems in Hotels, Rv parks, Casinos..etc. My husb is a Commercial Fire Alarm Contractor. I do the CAD Drawings for him too. We run both businesses out of the same office.(Sometimes that's good and sometimes not! )LOL
I get the luxury of sporting the H2 under my buns!

Kelley

Not any more. I've been here for 12 years. However, it is not much fun going out to eat.

On the plus side, it can be fun to wear my CDC badge. What would you do if you saw someone wearing a CDC badge inspecting the salad bar?

I LOVE my DirecTV! Hey, Kim - do you know anything about mobile satellite? I've heard that folks use the dish on their RV's. I'd pay quite a bit to be able to have satellite weblink from remote areas, but I heard you'd still need a phone line to upload.

I own an outdoor adventure company specializing in corporate outings. We also have an adventure club http://www1.AdventureTeam.com that is about 300 members strong in the Dallas area. We promote camping trips, canoe trips, skydiving, rock climbing, hiking, backpacking, wakeboarding, and of course offroading adventures.

I am a professional land surveyor and owns a land surveying/civil engineering firm. The H2 is my company vehicle and it is an important part of my tools of trade.

I am a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), working for a major financial services organization in NYC. My focus is on R&D of new financial products.

My passion is SurfCasting from Cape May (NJ)to Cape Cod (MA). All off roading is on sand beaches. I work the "suds" with a small group of fanatics who brave the all-night surf in search of giant Striped Bass "Cows".

There is nothing more gratifying than to swim a 1/2 mile off the beach in the middle of the night, (wet suit of course) and land a 30-50 lb bass.

Been driving a Toyota Land Cruiser for years. awaiting the 2004 H2.

Thanks to all for this fantastic forum.

Welcome, srfcastr, we're in NY too, and we've been thinking of having a get-together. Will post a separate topic under local events when the time is right. Lots more NY'ers around lately -- for a while, we were roundly trounced by the West Coasters in numbers! Welcome again!

Originally I started out studying to become a mechanical Engineer. One year away from graduation I switched majors. I became an orthodontist instead. I still work with metals, angles, elastic properties, bonding strenghts, and all that fun mechanical stuff... just on a much smaller scale! It was an excellent background for what I do. Love the H2.

Mike97ZJ 01-24-2003 01:29 AM

Patrick, I've actually been thinking about going back to school for mech. engineering.

I think it would be a field that I could get into. My problem is that just the thought of most professional fields bores me.

I'm interested mechanics and building things, so I think this might be a good field for me.

Do you have any advice as far as getting into it?

I'd appreciate any info or insight into that field you could give me.

Thanks.

I own a nation wide software company servicing the insurance industry. Other than off-roading, I enjoy our boat and going out for early morning runs on the freeway in my '03 Mustang Cobra - Just let me know Hee Haw when you in my area

Actually, I wouldn't be surprised at all if your H2 has alot of our grease in it. We sell a LOT to various automakers and thier suppliers.
